The man sent out some strong pokemon that used a special move to send everyone's pokemon back to their pokeballs and the detective said they had 2 options, come with him quietly or battle him. Brandon knew without a doubt he would have to battle the detectivs, but he didn't want to have his battle effect the group at all. Brandon reached for the pokeballs on his belt, he said aloud as he did so "Sir, I am afraid I must inform you that I personally can not come along quietly, so I must present you with 2 options, either let me and friends go on our way and we pretend we never met, or battle ME...." As he said this he released all his pokemon, who formed a very very tight defensive circle around their trainer. Once he paused he said next "That is just me, my friends can choose for themselves, if they choose not to fight, please do not harm them or their pokemon, as this is just me and me alone. He turned his head in the direction of the others, without taking his eyes off the man and said "Guys, this is just something I and my pokemon have to do, but I don't want you guys to put your pokemon at risk if you don't want to, you don't have to battle with him, I don't expect you to back me up, so if you don't want to battle, then don't". He said this because he knew HE had to do this, despite knowing the extremely high possibility of losing, but he didn't want to drag the GROUP into it if THEY didn't want to. While he spoke, Skipper had organized the team and their defense formation around him was now as tight as it could, it hasn't been this tight since the team rocket ambush.

Brandon then looked back at the detective and looked him stright in the eye, he said to him "Now, what will it be? Will you allow me and my friends to continue on without conflict, or will you be battling me? If choice two, then go ahead and send out your pokemon and let's do it this". As he spoke Brandon's pokemon crowded turned their full focus on the man and the pokemon he already had out, ready for the in eviteable battle that was going to take place in probably a few short minutes time.
