Rose hadn't even noticed that the grunt was really Max. She was just focusing on Amirah, hoping she could make it to confuse the Onix. She hadn't noticed it was him until he dropped the rope and shouted out, removing his hat. She was relieved to see him, but she had something more important to be paying attention to. Amirah had reached the Onix. She was questioning if she should still go through with the confuse ray now that Max was there and the Onix had already broken through, but it was too late regardless. Amirah followed through with the original plan, causing the rock type to completely lose it. "Amirah, get back over here!" She called the second she had finished. At the very least she had caused a good distraction.

Rose turned to run away down the nearest tunnel, but she was cut off by one of the grunts. She could sense behind her that everyone else was beginning to fight too. She couldn't just leave them. "I know you're tired Courage," Rose said, releasing the Mankey, "but I need you to hang in there a little longer."
