Brandon was surprised by Rose's reply, what he was saying he geniunely thought, he thought carefully how re word it... He took a deep breath getting ready to explain what he meant, when Rose suddenly said "What color was it?", seemly to a different conversation, he snapped out of his heavy thoughhts and looked at Rose, she seemed to be in deep concerated thought. Brandon looked around to see what conversation Rose could of been replying to, then he returned his gaze back to Rose, he gave a concerning, understanding look to Rose, he could not imagine what it must be like to grow up blind, he thought Rose has to be very courageous and strong to live her life despite her eyesight being impaired, some people don't have it in them, he thought he might have been able to do it, but regardless Rose was very strong for not letting it slow her down.
