Right before they met the fighters, Rose spoke up about not thinking they knew thier name "Maybe not, but my point is that if they ask, I am not the one you are looking for..." he gave her a giant smile, hoping her sensing abilities could detect it.

Once they met the fighters and Rocky approached them saying he would love to train, the fighter mentioned how gym leaders arent supposed to battle trainers, but that his pokemon may be able to teach Rocky's a thing or two, then they proceeded to have a training session. As it went on Brandon wondered about the fighter saying he was a gaint leader. He said aloud "Your a gym leader?"
