"Wait!" Rose called out as "Max's" voice faded. She began to realize how big of a mistake she had made by following the figure when the trees around her began to come to life. Out of fear, she dashed to the middle of the clearing. The area became dark with smoke, and she felt as if she was about to be swallowed by the darkness itself. She might not have been able to see light and dark, but this was an entirely different kind of darkness. This darkness she could feel. She opened her mouth to scream for help, but nothing would come out. Frantically, she reached for her pokeballs. One by one, she released every one of her Pokemon, hoping that they would be able to help her.

Suddenly she sensed a presence from somewhere in the field. At first she was startled, but soon realized it was another Pokemon, this one not a shadow.
