Rocky looked around the area. Holes from land mines and sleeping grunts littered the area. He thought for a moment and then realised what he was facing. Someone had surrounded the front of the house with mines full of sleep power.

"Kick-Puncher I choose you!" Rocky called out his Primape.

"Primeape?" asked the Primape.

"We need to get through a field of sleep-powder mines! Your vital spirit should stop the sleep power from affecting you. I want you to lead me around to the back of that house."

"Primeape, prime!" said Kick-Puncher. Rocky followed the primape, at what he hoped was a safe distance from any sleep powder mine setting off, and they attempted to make their way around to the back of the house.

"If we let you escape… will you let Meghan go?"

Kyo's head snapped to Rose. It was a good suggestion but… well the rumors of Lt. Surge and his devilry were too much to be ignored either. Kyo thought back to what Alice said earlier and felt her gut twist. Maybe they should let him go. It'd certainly spite that Alice girl. She had seen straight through Alice. Alice didn't trust Meghan. Alice didn't trust Kyo. She had split the group to see whose loyalties lay where. Then she'd probably turn on us all later because we weren't trustworthy to her. Kyo had seen it all before, and been faced with the situation many times. Kyo knew Alice hated Lt. Surge, so letting him get away and saving Meghan? Quite the slap in the face to Alice, if Kyo had read this correctly.

Kyo clicked her tongue and glanced back at Meghan. But… if this backfired, it could end very badly. They needed a backup plan but there was no time to formulate one. Kyo looked back at Megjan again and began to work out how to disable the traps below her. Kyo had a Sandshrew on her. Could be disable them?

PI sighed.
" Come on..." He shook his head.

" Really thats what you got. I had to freeze you because you and that little pikachu would have sent a thunderbolt right up where the sun does not shine. This is the only way to get your to play nice. Now, we dont have much time here. If you choose not the play the game I will have to call myself the winner and take my prize." PI said said getting up and walking over.

He reached over real close and took her other pokemon balls.
" Somewhere in here is an Ivysaur that would make a great member of my team. I also have information that you are going to want to hear but I aint given up nothing until you agree to the bet. So heres the bet. If I win I choose a pokemon of yours and your teammates that I want. If you win you get your freedom, your friends safety, all your pokemon back and the bonus will be the information I have learned since we last met. All you have to do is bet." He held up his watch.

"This deal is off the table as soon as your friends out there make a choice." He laughed

Meanwhile

Rocky made his way around the house. The door to the house was open maybe people were inside but he also noticed the tracks leading away from the house. He had to make a choice!!!

Meanwhile finally

Rose spoke up trying to defuse the situation.

"If we let you escape... Will you let Meghan go?" Rose questioned.

Surge paused shocked
" Let me go...Listen baby....You never had me trapped." He laughed

One of the other grunts walked up and whispered something to him. He shoved the kid to the ground and let out a growl.

"It appears that my troops believe we have past the time perimeters of this mission and it no longer benefits us. So Ill tell you what babies. My troops and I will go our way and you can go your way. Ill leave your friend here and her baby pokemon alone."

Surge finished loading his crates and then had the grunts jump in. He jumped in the van and before it took off he pressed the button to the electro field and drove off into the distance laughing. It looked as if they had missed out on getting there pokemon back again. With the electric field now surround the area the team had to think smart.

Ty sighed
"But but why?" He said unsure they should have let him go. He paused

" For Meghan right..?" He said looking up and nodded

"Okay ...well lets save her."

Stacy smiled
" I dont know you guys well but this choice must have been hard. Part of me wanted to see that evil man taken down but your friend Meghan she is more important that Surge..plus really where can he go?" She smiled

Stacy couldnt have made that choice and she looked at Rose and bowed

"You are much braver than you give yourself." Stacy said

"Meghan is lucky to have both of you." She then smiled at Kyo and Rose

"Now then to get your out..Hmmmm"

" Does anyone have a ground type?" Stacy said

Ty quickly called out Phanpy.
"We can help."

Rocky studied the tracks leading away from the house. clearly someone, or a group of someones had left the house and gone this way. Were they trying to escape with the stolen Pokemon? He would track them down and then come back if he needed to.

This next part would need all of Rocky's stealth skills. *Side note: Rocky has no stealth skills* Yes he was confident in his ability to sneak up on whoever had gone this way. *Side note: Nope not going to happen*

He called out Speedy and Pancham, his two stealth experts. "OK guy's we want to follow this trail and find whoever these tracks belong too.

Rocky silently *Crunch* walked along the path *rattle*. He *stomp-clomp* was very impressed by *clatter* his expert sneaking skills and *kick-'OW my toe'- clatter rustle rustle* was sure that no-one would hear him approach!

"Don't!" Alice whimpered as he removed the Pokeballs from her bag. He was so close... the smell of him made Alice sick. Once the PI took her Pokeballs, she knew there was no point messing around. She was completely under his control. She could only hope that she would choose right.

She considered her options. Meg was trapped, and she knew the others would try to save her over capturing Surge. If the police didn't arrive in time, Surge would most likely escape again. She could only hope that would happen now, though the thought of Surge escaping with her Pokemon again made her feel sick.

"My friends will save Meg," Alice said quietly. "Surge will escape." She did her best to lift her head and look the PI in the eyes. She was almost glad that the Hypno's control of her body stopped her from shaking. She didn't want to show him how scared she was.

She looked over at Plume and Paprika. She had to be brave, at least for them.

PI yawned
" The safe bet, Alice. You gotta play the odds. Since the odds are so high your friends are going to scare him off. Its hard to say the safe bet is worth much. ..." He paused

"For that bet Id only be willing to bet one of your pokemon on it. Low risk, low reward." PI looked at the two trainers

" No, I cant resit it. Hypno lets see what happens."

The two boys were made to fight each other. Neither had control of it.

"Now then Alice..once last chance. Show some courage...who will win!" He growled getting really close.

"IF you do not respond I am going to be forced to throw a weapon in there."

PI walked over to the window and noticed the large trainer sneaking towards the mess. He let out a laugh pulling out binoculars.

"What!" He growled his expression turning to laughter

" Well it turns out you were right..Your friends and Surge must have come to an agreement cause there goes Surge in van it looks like he has his crates.." PI picked up one of her pokeballs and walked over close again and put it back on her beldt (Or bag or wherever it was)

" Good job Alice." He smiled

Just downstairs Rocky had called out his team. When his pokemon got him in range he noticed the van with Surge was already to far ahead. In front of him he noticed Kyo, Rose, Stacy and Ty talking. In front of them some kid of electric field covering the ground and finally Meghan stuck in the tree.

Alice gritted her teeth. "You liar,' she growled. Anger boiled in her stomach. She had been right, but the PI didn't care. Worse, Surge seemed to have escaped with their Pokemon again. She could only hope her Pokemon had been left behind in the crate the grunt had mentioned.

Brandon and Paul began their fight. Alice wanted to look away but she couldn't move that much. She didn't know Paul very well at all, but he seemed gentler than Brandon. Brandon had experience fighting and was always quick to rush in. She could only hope she had read Paul's personality right. But even then, the boys were under control of the Hypno. For all Alice knew, the fight was rigged against her, no matter what she chose.

"Brandon will win," she said, struggling to move her hands. If only she could break free. She would need to distract the Hypno somehow but her lone Pokeball was out of reach.

Rocky arrived just in time to see the van drive off.

"Hello everybody! Things here look interesting. I see you found Meg... what happened to her?" Rocky looked at the electric field. "Anyone got a ground type? Both of mine are still missing."

Rocky looked for a way around the electric field to get to Meg.

"Who was in that van that took off? Was it Brandon and Paul going for help?"

Once again Kyo found herself regretting a decision. But what's done is done. Surge had left and Meghan was theirs. Kyo sighed a little with relief, but now there was a whole new obstacle to overcome. They had to get Meghan down. Kyo felt a bit flustered with Stacy complimented her but otherwise didn't really react beyond a smile in acknowledgement. Then it seemed Stacy had a similar idea to Kyo. Ty sent out his phanpy.

"I have a ground type as well, actually." Kyo pulled the pokeball off her belt and sent out her Sandshrew. "What is your idea?"

"That electric field needs to be neutralised. Your ground types could pile a heap of sand on top of whatever is generating the field. hat should short it out. They should be immune to the effects of the field too. We need to move fast though, Meg doesn't look good up there!"

Rocky considered which of his Pokemon could help here and called out Nala and Vulpix to join Speedy.

"I need you three to dig a hole and throw the dirt over there onto the electric field." Rocky instructed them.

Nala rolled her eyes and started batting at the ground pretending to dig, but doing very little of any actual use. She didn't see the point in using her strength for anything other than battle.

Vulpix gave a bark and started digging sending dirt into the electric field, but not enough to be useful.

Speedy enthusiastically began digging frantically trying to beat the others at this new digging 'game'. he dug a nice deep Rattata sized burrow, but the dirt he excavated was not enough to cause major disruption to the electric field.

"Nice work Speedy and Vulpix!" Rocky said to them, while giving Nala a exasperated look, which she returned by rolling her eyes again.

"This is where Behemoth and Professor Needles would excel." Rocky said in annoyance.
