Alice grinned. "I get the idea you made a good impression on Surge," she said. "His grunts sure seemed impressed at least," she laughed. The tension seemed broken.

After Alice told Meg about the memory, she seemed surprised.

" Was it real?" she asked not as insult but wondering what she saw. " Did you see him? Is he ...how?" Meghan said looking at Alice with admiration.

"It was real," Alice said. "I'm sure of it." She explained briefly to Meg about what she and Rose had been through in Cerulean City. How Rose had managed to make a connection with Max inside Dredd somehow, allowing Alice to enter his memories. "It was how we knew that Dredd was really Max..." Alice said sadly. She was sure Rose wouldn't mind that Meg knew. Alice didn't tell Meg about all the memories. She didn't feel like they were hers to share. Instead she just told her about the one moment she glimpsed an older Meg and Max in one of the memories of the child Max.

" You must have a strong connection with him." Meghan said smiling at Alice.

"I'm sorry I didn't tell you earlier," Alice finished. "I wasn't sure if anyone would believe me. And if I'm being honest, I kind of liked having a part of Max to myself," she blushed.

" I would give anything to ask him how is he or how we can save him." Meg said.

"He's still in there," Alice said firmly. "We just have to figure out how to reach him. Max knew what he was doing when he made you our leader, Meg. He knew you wouldn't give up."
