Meghan felt her heart racing as she walked outside. She carefully put her bag down. She was about to go and stretch her legs when Alice came out to talk to her. Meghan looked at the trainer who she had felt at slight odds with but had never for a second thought poor of.

" We havent spoken much in awhile ..." Meghan said.

" The whole world seems to be moving a 100 miles and hour and none of us can seem to stop it. " she paused with a slight smile

" You would have done the same thing if you thought any of us or your pokemon would be hurt. You gotta a little reckless in you too." she said

" Im not anymore brave than anyone..just more foolish and head strong. Plus I had fun messing with Surges grunts. I think I was starting to grown on him." Meghan said taking a few steps towards the fossil time.

" He? If so he's really cool."

Alice continued
"I'm sorry about Max," she blurted out. "I know you cared about him a lot. That night in Cerulean... I saw something in Dredd's mind... memories. And one of them was you and Max together. You were both older. I don't know what it means exactly... but it gives me hope that everything will be alright. That he'll be alright. We'll do our best to save him."

Meghan was taken back on this.
" Was it real?" she asked not as insult but wondering what she saw.
" Did you see him? Is he ...how?" Meghan said looking at Alice with admiration.

" You must have a strong connection with him." Meghan said smiling at Alice.

" I would give anything to ask him how is he or how we can save him."

Alice grinned. "I get the idea you made a good impression on Surge," she said. "His grunts sure seemed impressed at least," she laughed. The tension seemed broken.

After Alice told Meg about the memory, she seemed surprised.

" Was it real?" she asked not as insult but wondering what she saw. " Did you see him? Is he ...how?" Meghan said looking at Alice with admiration.

"It was real," Alice said. "I'm sure of it." She explained briefly to Meg about what she and Rose had been through in Cerulean City. How Rose had managed to make a connection with Max inside Dredd somehow, allowing Alice to enter his memories. "It was how we knew that Dredd was really Max..." Alice said sadly. She was sure Rose wouldn't mind that Meg knew. Alice didn't tell Meg about all the memories. She didn't feel like they were hers to share. Instead she just told her about the one moment she glimpsed an older Meg and Max in one of the memories of the child Max.

" You must have a strong connection with him." Meghan said smiling at Alice.

"I'm sorry I didn't tell you earlier," Alice finished. "I wasn't sure if anyone would believe me. And if I'm being honest, I kind of liked having a part of Max to myself," she blushed.

" I would give anything to ask him how is he or how we can save him." Meg said.

"He's still in there," Alice said firmly. "We just have to figure out how to reach him. Max knew what he was doing when he made you our leader, Meg. He knew you wouldn't give up."

then Ty and paul heard

then the team gathered around alice

"Ive been keeping an eye out for a golden band that connects three trees. We should all spread out in the area to look for it. The grunt said we just needed to look up in the are near the cabin where Meghan was held and we would find it."

Ty and Paul followed sarah and pidgeotto and butterfree started searching to.
after a short search so found alice the treasure and paul called back his flying types.
when all the trainers where there so started they to look for the mystery treasure.
then one of the trainers beldum noticed that there was a hidden bunker.
they walked in to the bunker and found pokemon eggs.
after som talking so decided paul to take one egg
he was pretty upset about pepole making mystery hybrids for battle or to sell.

Meghan put some papers on the table. "They're papers... But I'm assuming you were referring to what's on the papers." She joked. She couldn't sense the images on the papers.

" Sorry but we cant hold anything back anymore. You deserved to know that I found Max's stuff that Dredd is Max. That Team Rocket is making monsters." Meghan explained. Rose probably already knew that better than anyone though after getting through to him on the ship. A tear dripped down her left cheek as she thought about what he said. How could she tell the others? But how could she not?

Rose took one of the eggs. She was barely able to fit it in her backpack.

She watched as Meghan walked outside, and Alice followed. She couldn't hold in what Max had told her any more. She had to tell them. After a few moments, she followed too. She walked up behind them just in time to hear the last part of their conversation. "He's still in there. We just have to figure out how to reach him. Max knew what he was doing when he made you our leader, Meg. He knew you wouldn't give up." Alice said.

Rose burst into tears. "O-On the ship... I... I-I got t-through to him." She barely managed to say in between the tears. "I g-got through to Max. H-he said... H-h-he..." She couldn't get the words out.

Meghan was taken back when Alice described it all. She was especially focused on what Rose was able to do now. Meghan had known Roes had powers but had not actually been around much to see it or hear about it.

" Rose can do that? Thats amazing." Meghan said. She smiled slighly.
" Im so glad you were able to see him..not sure how it works but the fact that were able to find his thoughts." Meghan said

Meghan smiled
" Dont be there has been so much going on and Ive been gone for a little while. Heck half the time I was going my poketech was broken." She smiled

" You still do." Meghan smiled in reference to what Alice saw.

" He shared something with you. Something that is just for you and him. I hope you are right that I get to see him. I only saw ...Dredd.....in my head and that was a nightmare."

Rose came out of the bunker to catch the end of the conversation and she started crying. "O-On the ship... I... I-I got t-through to him." She barely managed to say in between the tears. "I g-got through to Max. H-he said... H-h-he..." She couldn't get the words out.

Meghan and Alice turned to the trainer.
"What? You got through to him?" Meghan said a little puzzled

"Rose, we are here with you. please calm down. What did he tell you?" Alice said

Meanwhile inside Ty looked at Paul who grabbed an egg. There was only one other Egg and Stacy picked it up.
"I think I can take this one. I would hate to leave any pokemon behind." She said looking at Ty.

The young trainer looked at the egg.

"What if its evil...or there is a monster in there?" The boy said being a goofy but a little serious.

Rocky walked outside not noticing the intense conversation with Alice and Meghan. Kyo, Kiara, Paul and Brandon had already come out of the place. A couple of them holding eggs.

Rose took a deep breathe. For a moment, she considered lying. She couldn't accept what Max had told her that easily. But she had made a promise to him. She couldn't break that promise. "He said... He told me..." She said faintly. "They used Garatina to tear his soul into two pieces. What I spoke to was only the part that was left in him. The other part... He said that we need to free it from Garatina." She couldn't keep beating around the bush though. "He said that... T-the only way to stop Dredd Is..." She began to cry again. "W-we can't save him." She finally blurted out. She was now crying harder than she could ever remember crying before.

"Alice... He wanted me to tell you that he sees you in his dreams and that you bring him comfort." She said, trying her best to recount his exact words.

Whatever the girls were talking about seemed to be getting intense and emotional, Rocky decided to keep himself well away from that. He walked over to talk to Brandon and Paul.

"You know, for all the horribleness that this last few days chasing Surge has been, I have to say, that was the most intense 'Gym battle' I have ever heard of! We didn't just go to a gym and challenge the leader to a battle. We tracked him down to his lair, fought against actual criminals and finally got to see him taken down by a legendary Pokemon. You can't buy that sort of entertainment. I would know! This definitely deserves a celebration."

Rocky held his fist out in front of him, looking for a fist bump.

"Rose..." Alice whispered. She'd had no idea what the poor girl had been through on that ship.

"They used Garatina to tear his soul into two pieces. What I spoke to was only the part that was left in him. The other part... He said that we need to free it from Garatina."

Giratina, Alice thought. She had seen the Pokemon in Dredd's mind too. Both in his memories and on the ship. It was beginning to make sense now. But as long as it was a Pokemon who had done this, it could be fixed right? Giratina could be battled like any Pokemon. Hope filled Alice's chest.

"T-the only way to stop Dredd Is..." Rose began to cry again. "W-we can't save him."

Rose was crying really hard now. Alice put an arm around her shoulders, but she felt shaky too. "Rose, are you sure?" she asked. "But I saw..." She looked at Meg. The hope she had wanted to give Meg by sharing the memory seemed useless now. Alice wasn't sure what to believe. If Max couldn't be saved, then who would go back in time with Meg to Max's father's funeral? Alice thought about what Jacob had said... that Meg and Max existed in his world. Could the older Max and Meg she saw be from another world? Was their Max really doomed? "No... he can't be... He was still in there! There has to be some way!" she said aloud.

"Alice... He wanted me to tell you that he sees you in his dreams and that you bring him comfort." Rose said suddenly.

Alice was taken aback. Tears sprang to her eyes. After being in his memories, seeing all the pain he had already gone through as a child, Alice felt protective over Max, just as she did over her Pokemon. She wouldn't give up, not yet.

Rose felt Alice's arm around her shoulders, but it didn't do much to comfort her. "Rose, are you sure?" Alice questioned. "No... he can't be... He was still in there! There has to be some way!"

"I want to believe that... I really do... But Max said that the only way to stop Dredd is to kill him." She continued crying for a moment before speaking again. "There has to be something. There has to be!" She cried out. Suddenly she thought of something. "The inquisitor gem. Max said that the only way to stop what Dredd was doing on the ship was to destroy it. But could more exist? If we found one, could we use its power to save Max somehow?" She wasn't hopeful, but the inquisitor gem contained a massive amount of energy. Surely something could be done with it. She didn't want to think about it, but it occurred to her that even if Max couldn't be saved with an inquisitor gem, the amount of energy released with the destruction of one could be enough to kill Dredd.
