After only a few moments, Alice was woken by a low grumble from Aster. He seemed to have found a tunnel Alice hadn't noticed on her way into the main cavern. From its depths came the cries of a Pokemon. Alice was exhausted but she knew she couldn't ignore them.

As Aster trudged down the second path, the cries got louder. Aster seemed very uneasy and even Alice sensed some strange energy ahead. Sure enough, the pair were greeted by two Shadow Pokemon. They were so dark they almost blended into the cavern walls.

Aster pulled up sharply, nearly sending Alice tumbling off. She clutched onto his leaves and reached for a Pokeball. She hesitated for a minute, remembering what had happened last time she had allowed her Pokemon to fight a Shadow Pokemon. But the distressed Pokemon's cry rang out again, and Alice knew she had to risk it.

It was a tough battle but Aria and Jedi managed to take out the Shadow Pokemon. Alice captured both of them without a second thought. Then she returned her Pokemon. "Thank you," she said softly to the Pokeballs. "I'm so sorry. I'll get you help as soon as I can!" She would have to find a Pokemon Center as soon as she was out of this cave.

"Let's go, Aster," Alice said hurriedly. She was still sore but the adrenaline had pushed all the pain away for now. As they headed further into the cavern, Alice noticed a lot of items scattered about. Aster helped her gather them using his vines. "I wonder what happened here," Alice said worriedly, as she stored them in her bag. Had a trainer met their end here? It sure seemed like it from the Pokeballs and berries scattered around.

Alice and Aster continued further down the path, toward the cries of the Pokemon.
