I do not disagree with this. However I feel like some revisions need to be made. I might open up grading to everyone. I'm at work so I'll be posting up a thread in the staff section with how I think the journal section can be handled in time.

Understandable, but until a new system has been discussed and finalized, I think it's only fair to keep all current submissions under the same policy where if they haven't been graded within a week, the 15 automatic points applies. Otherwise the current stuff is kind of in limbo until then.

Why is everyone in such a rush for 15 points? xD understandable for Comatose but it's not like the RR people can spend them yet haha.

True, getting that feedback helps, but after waiting a week, I'd rather take the 15 points rather than keep waiting week after week and feel like it's never going to get reviewed. Not getting anything at all after waiting and waiting does make it discouraging to keep adding more journal entries, while at least having the 15 point thing does guarantee that at least something will come out of it feedback or no feedback and thus, keeps motivation going. The last thing people want is to keep doing journal entries to get no reward out of it (I might as well just write my own non-GCEA fan fiction thing then). Plus if the 15 point default thing gets done away with and the stuff is just allowed to pile up, whoever reviews these things would have to deal with such a massive backlog that it would discourage them from taking the task on. And yet for those that would rather get the feedback and don't mind waiting indefinitely, let them just not cash in on the 15 points while those that would rather just move on can cash in on the 15 default points.

But really, I think Comatose, Trainer17, and myself should be able to cash in on the ungraded journal entries. The current system states the 15 points can be claimed after a week of waiting (RR people may not need them now, but we'd still like to stock up on them while we can because I know getting Pokemon leveled up and evolved is going to be a pricey process). Doing this kind of thing pulls the rug out from under us, just doesn't seem fair, and we were given no forewarning about it. If the officials want to change the system, that's fine, but until an alternate plan is ready to go, things should stay as they are. Max should have said "Okay, all journal entries after this post no longer apply to the 15 point default rule." But at the time our journal entries were posted, the 15 point default rule was still in place.

The even if its over part is talking about time its suppose to be graded. And more directly and not really open to debate it directly says. Wait for a response before claiming. Thats crystal clear. The journals will be graded. Those of you who feel wronged can pm/vm about it as this effects others as well including myself. As of this post the grading submission time to get posts will be removed until the staff can figure out a proper system for this. Sorry for the inconvenience but we are doing our best.

Yeah, if my entry was still fresh like 2 or 3 days old before you got your 'announcement' up, then I wouldn't be wouldn't have a problem waiting. Comatose and mine were almost a week done before you came in and gave us an unwanted extension. If you did that to newer entries that would be understandable. But now you removed the whole rule overall. The system is proper. Get some graders and leave this to them.

And I agree with Neo completely.

@Sarah rules are still rules. Doesn't matter if we're in dire need of points or not

No matter what people think about an extension. The fact remains I directly posted wait until a staff member posts before claiming points. NO ONE said that you would not get 15 points however you will need to wait. The least all of you people can do is cut me a break. While I try to work on a system that works for the staff and the members.

Neo, Coma and I already waited and only made a move once the time period was up(one week). We weren't impatient or anything. But you, reworking on the system overall just like that doesn't help either. We only followed the rules Joe. We didn't break anything. Work on a system by getting more graders would help. Not overuling the entries which was already a week old and reworking on the system when you already have entries in isn't a good move.

Reread what I said. As you seem to be missing the point. My ruling was made before the week was up. Which means no one was owed anything when I said everyone wait until a staff member posts to claim the points. If I had posted after the week was up for any of you then yes that's a different story.
Again please be Patient as we are working on this. So far I wouldn't say much patients has been practiced. Also I don't want to fight people over something like this so please forgive me for the inconvenience of this whole thing.

I'm not missing any point. I said you came in last minute for those whose entries were almost up for one week, and that was true. When comatose and I posted it was indeed more than 7 days (go count btw) and it was pretty much us getting what we were owed as per the rules. No staff claimed it and the week was up. We were entitled to the points. But.of couse you overruled that and finalised things by asking us to be patient more (once again let me emphasize. If our entries had not past the 7 days mark, i would have really been a bit more patient, yes) and extended the grading time and now the rule is no more and system is under works. Not smooth my man. Our entries are already a week old and we are entitled to the points. Joe I ain't fighting with you man. But see the point? It's been over a week for coma, me and neo. Why aren't we entitled to the points? No staff claimed or posted after you made the announcement and a week has already passed :0

I just realized the default 15 points thing only appears in the Sketchpad thread, not the Journal one. I went to go check for the exact wording on that rule and... there is no wording. XP

On that note... I don't think we have a case on this one. Best to just wait it out, but I think hiring more graders would be a good idea. Many hands make light work.
