With both having agreed it was now the time. The being moved closer to Rose.

*Now, we must hurry. In order to open the gate you must treat this gate the same way you would with Amirah's helping your vision. You must focus on the last time you saw through Max's eyes. Take a second and focus just on that link the same way you have always done with Amirach's treat it like a second nature.*

(Sorry @Dragon Master Mike and @Pokemon Trainer Sarah have to move this forward.)

With that Rose now had something to focus on. This trick was just the basic way to get this started. She focused as hard as possible and with that a portal opened up. Rose was unable to see the portal as she mind was creating it. The being gestured for Alice to step through. The portal instantly transported Alice alone to the dark cold grasses field. The grass lay dead around her feet and ash dropped down around her. She was freezing cold and in the middle of what could be best described as a world destroyed by some kind of massive explosion. The only thing in the distance was a creepy prison with the windows bored up. As she moved towards it something appeared in the sky. She recognized it as dragon but unlike any she had ever see.

The dragon moved quickly through the night sky right at her. She ran as fast as possible not stopping until she reached the Prison. Once in, she found herself alone in a dark prison. Broken glass, and garbage covered the floor. She didnt know where to go at first. Then as if a light turned on to show her the way she was drawn down the eastern hallway. Once she reached the light she found a door. When she opened it she found herself in a completely different area.

This time she was standing in someones living room. It was dark out but this seemed to be normal home. She watched as to people walked in. The woman paced around. Very upset.
"What have you done...god, what have you done Patrick. How could you do this to him...how could you do that to me." she said swinging hard and slapping him in his face.
He paused he had no words to defend his action.

"The tests were meant to be slight alterations to give our boy abilities unlike any other child. The test may been immoral but I triple checked the numbers. He is fine. As for the others they never have to know!" he shouted back.

Alice stood no less then two feet away from the screaming. However she found that they didnt notice her at all. As she looked around something caught her eye. In the corner of the room a 4 year boy stood looking through a crack in the doorway. Little max just watched he didnt full comprehend what was happening but he felt the pain of in their words. He looked away from his parents and paused looking at Alice. The little boy then backed away and started to run towards his room.

Rose could see all of this from the crack in the door way. She could feel Max's heart racing. She could feel the boys confusion. Rose was forced to live all this out as an observer behind the scene.

Meanwhile in the outside.

Everything and everyone lay on the ground. The entire team knocked out. The creature dredd lay temporarily immobilized. Virtue had come upon a burning city and caught the end of the battle. She noticed the trainers all laid out. Four on one side and two on the other. In the center what looked to be a member of Team Rocket in military gear. Though a dark energy surrounded him making it very hard to actually see this person.

Virtue could feel an urgancy to get these people out of here. She and her pokemon would need to move quickly to get them back away from this. Before she call out her first pokemon. Helicopters zoomed around the corners there lights circling all around the area. Kantos military was finally about to arrive.

The man slowly pushed himself up. Using pure willpower he stood up. Dark beams shoot out of his all black pokeballs collecting the pokemon. The man seemed dazed. However he didnt notice Virtue. With one last blast of energy he forced her to leap out of way. When she looked up he was gone.

In the distance now she could hear trucks arriving. Fire fighters were coming. A group of trainers finally broke through to find the group. The one leading the group was the gym leader they had met before. Followed right by Misty.

"They're over here!" she called out.

" Grunt get in there and help clear the area, Crush you and Torterra get in there and get those citizens clear of this area. Sweeps, you and others clear the area..we need answers." he commanded.

A couple of soldiers moved right behind him.
"Sir what are the orders."

"Lets create a perimeters around the area quickly. We dont want any of the criminals responsible for this getting away and would someone get us a medic here asap." He shouted.

Magnus walked over towards the Virtue.

" Are you okay?" He said looking to help.

"Did you see what happened here?"

Misty rushed over to the team with the help of her pokemon and Magnus the quickly moved the team clear the destruction to a safe house that had not been touched in the attack. As they were moved the team slowly started to come to.

The pain was too much. Rocky lay on the green grass of the Canalave football oval. he had pushed himself too far and it felt like everything inside of him was tearing apart. He couldn't go on any more.

"You just going to sleep there, Smithwick?" Coach Brown's voice broke through the pain.

"It's too much, Coach. I think I pulled everything!" Rocky replied to the coach.

"Is that how you are going to give up against Snowpoint in the championship game? Perhaps I should promote Marco to captain. Give you a break from the top job!"

"No, Coach. I can do it." Rocky tried to rise to his feet, and passed out again.

"Wake up son!" Rocky heard Byron's voice through the pain.

"What happened?" Rocky asked through gritted teeth. He opened his eyes to look around the Canalave gym.

"You need to learn not to stand between an Aggron and a Steelix at feeding time. Let me check to see if anything is broken."

The pain said that something was very wrong. Rocky closed his eyes and tried to grit his teeth through the pain.

"I can't do it Byron. Something is wrong!"

"Sorry, Kid! No Byron here. My name is Janice, you are going to be safe now!"

Rocky opened his eyes again and looked around at the ruined city. The rest of the team were being treated by man and women in army fatigues.

"What... happened ... where are ... my ..Poke .... mon!" Rocky tried to rise, and found it incredible that the small army medic was able to overpower him and push him down onto the stretcher.

"You just wait here. Let me take care of you until you get a bit stronger."

Rocky reluctantly agreed and lay still while the medic checked his vitals.

Alice was completely unnerved. It was like being inside a movie or something. She was sure that she was invisible until the boy looked at her. Even though she knew these were Max's memories, she found it strange to see him so young and vulnerable. Could he see her? He turned and ran towards his room. Alice left the pair... His parents?... to their argument and followed the boy. If there was any hope, she knew it must be with him.

"Max?" she called after him. "Max, can you hear me? Don't be scared... I'm your friend...."

Alice had no idea what to do. Could she reason with this boy? Would the monster remember this? All the while she thought about Rose and hoped she could keep the connection going.

((Are Rose and Alice the cause of Dredd retreating and we just haven't gotten that far yet?))

A lot of stress was being placed on Rose. She knew that failure wasn't an option. As she began to focus, the portal began to form. At first it seemed weak, but as she focused harder, it began to stabilize. Next thing she knew, Alice was gone. She could sense what was happening on the other side of the portal though. Alice seemed to be in a field of some sort, and something was flying at her. She had no idea what that something was, but it seemed like a dragon of some sort. She watched as Alice proceeded to the prison and ultimately to the living room. She could immediately tell that the people in the living room couldn't see her, but she noticed someone else watching them. It was little Max (Yes, that is what I will refer to him as). Alice went chasing after little Max. This all seemed very strange to Rose. She felt as this was all a dream of some sort. Or maybe a nightmare...

* I realize we know its Max but I think its safe for Rose and Alice to assume its him.. lol since they are in his memories.

Alice followed the little boy down the hallway and finally to his room. When she got there she could only see part of foot sticking out from other under some kind of blanket fort. The boy didnt respond at first.

" Not afraid of you..afraid of monster." he said poking out waving her over. Inside the little boy sat with a flash light.

He looked up at Alice with a cautious smile.
"momma and Daddy no see him." he said

He sat there silently holding up a flashlight. His hand started shaking when he heard the his toys going off. Something was there and Max crawled behind Alice's back putting her head down by her side to hide himself. Rose could feel his terror. His thoughts focused on the boogie man. As the blanket started shaking Alice could now hear the sinister laugh and slid back. Finally the blanket lifted up and Alice kicked at it grabbing the boy and making a run from it. She didnt slow down to see who or what it was but ran when he got to the front door she opened and rushed out. Little Max was gone and she could no longer open the door.

She quickly made her way to the next door opening she feel through and landed in the middle a grasses field his time it was the middle of the day and it was in a park. He looked around to see a Max playing by himself. Though he looked a few years older. He sat there with his toys minding his own busniess when the kids walked up and started throwing sand at him and taunting.

"My dad said you a freak.."

"Yeah, mind said stay away from you cause your not like one of us..you are not even like a human."

"I wonder what happens if he throw a pokeball at you! will you get sucked in like the other ANIMALS" One boy said throwing a pokeball at his head. The ball hit hard leaving a cut on his head. Max stood up fighting off the tears. He got right in the kids face.

" One day I am going to grow up big and strong...and you wont be anything but a loser." Max said trying his best to control his temper. The other boys then quickly shoved him onto the ground kicking at him then they ran away laughting. Max got up all alone with tears now in his eyes. He sat up cleaning off his clothes. Rose could feel the pain of Max feeling like nothing. His sadness turned to panic.

"no no no" he began to cry picking up a crushed wooden figure that had looked to be hand made.

Max picked up carefully trying to put it back together but it was to badly damaged.

(Up to you sarah. Im tying to get you through this. Remember this is all happening outside of the normal time clock so dont feel to pressured. )

Meanwhile

The team was taken to the shelter to be checked on. Meghan laid unconscious. Her body reeling from the pain. Her dream quickly turned into a nightmare as she played in a pool. As she looked around to notice who the lifeguard was. The creature calling itself Dredd...She tried to get out of the water but purple liquid started to fill up the pool. She screamed out as it started to pull her under. All she could hear was that laugh. That twisted light.

*Your going to fail them..under your watch they will die......* He screamed out

Meghan suddenly woke up. Her heart racing as she found herself in a strange place with needles poked in her skin. As she pulled them out a medic came running over an helped calm her down.
"Miss you are okay.."He said giving her some water.

"My Friends?? My pokemon..." She said her heart racing.

" Your pokemon are being treated by nurse joy. As for your friends they are also hear in this building. We thought it was best to give you each some space. Please miss just rest for a second let your heart rate slow down."

(this event will be ending soon :) )

(@Dragon Master Mike: Your part in this goes beyond just the outside actions. No, they havent effected Dredd and right now they are inside the knocked out Dredd. Thats why I said the small window.)

Alice breathed heavily after the ordeal with the "boogie monster". She was locked out of the house now, so she kept going, walking through the next door. This time she was outside. A slightly older Max played alone, until bullies began taunting him. His powers... Alice thought. His own father did this to him, and how he suffers for it.

Alice watched with dismay as the children called Max an animal. Painfully, it reminded her of her own childhood. She had been picked on for spending so much time with Pokemon. In the end, she had begun to act like an animal herself. Alice tried to connect the two memories... the boogie monster and the bullies... Were these the foremost memories in shadow Max's mind? Was he reliving these moments as she was? Could these be the horrible memories that had been used to turn him into a monster?

" One day I am going to grow up big and strong...and you wont be anything but a loser." Max said.

Alice felt a surge of pride as Max stood up for himself. She had never been strong enough to do that as a child. The other children merely laughed and shoved and kicked him before running off. As Max picked up his broken toy, Alice could see tears in his eyes. She felt her own eyes well up.

Whenever she felt rejected, she had always found comfort in the presence of Pokemon. She reached into her pocket, retrieving a Pokeball. Her Ivysaur appeared in a flash of red. Alice wasn't sure if Aster was really here with her or not, but he looked real enough. "Aster, come with me," Alice said as she slowly approached the little boy.

Aster walked up to Max and nuzzled gently into his side. The Ivysaur picked up a small chunk of wood with his vines and began to carve at it, using his vines and sharp leaves from his bulb.

"You will be strong one day, Max," Alice said, kneeling down next to him. She knew she couldn't change old memories, but maybe if she could make shadow Max remember it a little bit differently... "But you'll also be good and kind. One day this will be long in the past. Don't let these memories control you. Remember that you are loved, Max."

Aster presented a crudely-carved Bulbasaur to the little boy, trying to cheer him up.

When Brandon finally came to, he was in a room of what looked like sort of like a makeshift hospital room, Brandon wondered whether or not he was alive at first, he reached over and pinched his arm, he felt the pain of it, he definitely was alive. He felt waist, he couldn't feel his pokemon belt, he began to panic, what had to his pokemon? He felt his pockets, his knife was gone as well. He looked around the room for his pack, it was not there either. This was making him very uncomfortable. Why was all his stuff taken from him? Was he a prisoner? He noticed he was hooked up to a couple machines, he disconnected all the devices, removed all wires and lines from him, then looked around for something he could use for a weapon. He spotted a flower vase in the corner, he grabbed it, threw the flowers out of it and picked it up. He held it as if it were a baseball bat and preceded to try and figure out a way out of the room. He saw a door, but it needed a keycard to get open, Brandon lowered the vase to his side, held it with only his one hand and used his other to bang on the door, he yelled "Let me out of here! You can not hold me, I will not allow it, if you think I am not going to put up a fight, think again!". Just then the door opened and a man in a doctors coat and an army uniform stood in the door way, his arms raised in a surrender motion. Brandon had instinctively brought the vase back up to his shoulder and re grasped it with the other hand, prepared to swing it if need be. The man in the coat was trying to talk him down. Brandon was not going to fall for that! The only reason he didn't swing is because the guy had his hands up, Brandon yelled at the man 'WHO ARE YOU? WHERE HAVE YOU TAKEN ME? WHERE ARE MY POKEMON AND BELONGINGS? WHERE IS THE REST OF THE GROUP I WAS WITH? WHAT DO YOU WANT WITH ME? WHAT IS THE MEANING OF THIS?". The man responded in a calm, soothingly tone "Sir, please calm down, allow me the chance to explain myself and answer your questions..." *Here Brandon took a deep breath and tried to calm down* "There that's better, my Private peters, I am a Kanto military medic, we were called there by the Cerulean Gym Leader Misty, by the time we got there and found you and your friends, you had all passed out. We moved you to a safe house in Cerulean, set up a makeshift hospital and have been treating you all for your injuries. Your friends and pokemon are, your friends are in this building, we put each of you in separate rooms because we figured you all could use some space. You are all safe now. I hope this answers all your questions, now may you please me to take care of you?" Brandon listened as the man had spoken, at some point during the man's speech Brandon had put down the vase and calmed down. By the end, the medic had walked him back to his bed, got a glass of water from an end table in the room, then began checking his blood pressure and vitals. Brandon just sat there, his mind still trying to process all that had happened before and after he passed out. There had been just so much that had happened, in so short a time, that his mind just needed a few minutes to take it all in.

Max frantically tried to get the pieces to go back together as he did an Ivysaur appeared. He looked over a little puzzled but breathed a sigh a small sigh of relief. (Remember @Dragon Master Mike you are experincing this all through Max's eyes. You are not watching form the outside you are living it out as if you were seeing it through your own eyes)

Max's attention was elsewhere as Alice spoke. When she handed him the carved peice he smiled lightly..
"Thank you...but this a gift my mom made for me before she died." He said softly holding the broken piece,Tears welling up in his eyes.

"She made it to remind me of the great heroes in our family..She told me one day I would be one." He said looking at the broken piece.

" I miss her.." He said softly running his fingers around its edges.

At this point the sky began to darken.

Meanwhlie inside of Roses thoughts she stood holding the connection. Around her however the perfect world she had created came quickly under attack. The being quickly moved to Rose shaking her out of it. The bridge through to Alice was now separated and Alice was stuck.

*Rose..it is awake ...* The being said. staying close to her.

As if a large force field surrounded her world it began to shatter and once broke an ocean of purple flooded in. Rose and the light being were swept off their feet and carried to a wall where they both slammed into it. The darkness quickly drowned out Rose's friend and she found herself alone.

* You are an anomaly to us, Rose. You have a gift that defies what we know about this world.* Dredd stopped looking around.

* You have broken the rules...you have been somewhere you do not belong. Viewing the world through his eyes has allowed us to access the world through you.* The creature said with a sinister tone.

Rose's fear came to reality as she lost control of her body and no longer could open the gate for Alice. She now found herself imprisoned in her own mind.

Meanwhile on the outside Rose's awoke in the make shift hospital room. However unknown to others this wasnt thier Rose. Her body was now being controlled by the shadow creature Dredd. Rose slowly moved around walking freely through the hallway. Pausing only as she reached the room that Jacob was in. To Jacob this girl was just another one of the group members.

She stood in his doorway.
"How...how did you get here? Do you think your arrival had anything to do with that creature appearing?" She asked softly. Dredd kept Rose's Mannerisms.

Rose could only sit by and listen.

Meanwhile again inside Max's memories the world seemed to shake suddenly.

"it..it found us.." Max said standing up.

*HE IS OURS....HE IS OURS!*

A mighty voice called out terrifying Alice and shaking her to her core. The world around quickly started to fade.

*You want to see child..than see..*

The world around her stared flash scattered memories of Max's and Alice found herself being toss through them randomly.

The world jolted to a stop.

A group of men stood inside Max's living room. Talking to what appeared to be his dad.

"You have no choice. There will not be another opportunity to balance out the powers for another two hundred years. You have been chosen despite your inhuman acts in tampering with the boy." The oldest man said.

"It is this the scared ball that must be used to bring down the titan." The man said handing over a chrome pokeball.

The men continued to talk but left the room. Alice watched as the shiny Apom rushed in and grabbed the pokeball out of the bag. She watched as little Max came in chasing after him.

The world jolted forward and a group of men were now standing inside of living room.
"Son, he didnt make it." The elder said.

Max backed away from the men who tried to console him. He ran of.

Alice watched as the men continued to talk.
" What are we going to do with him.."

"Well we cant keep him here...who knows what he will become."

"He is just a child...he can be trained to use his gifts."

Max stood on the other side of the door crying. He looked at Aipom.
"Will show all of them." He growled

Meanwhile for the last time.

Most of the group was awake now, other than Alice who was still unconscious. Once Meghan had her barrings she got up and made her way out of the room collecting her pokemon. She walked around looking for the others.

As men surrounded the area, a man came up to her and asked her if she was okay. Even though she was just thrown, she didn't feel much more pain.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Just need to...get myself used to my surroundings right now." She said to him, before being escorted by men to a medical center. She was transferred along with another group of kids, although she did not know them very well. She just took a nap till she arrived there.

As the others healed, Virtue walked around and investigated them to put in the best way. She didn't know any of them obviously, but she still had a right to wonder if they were okay. As she noticed many of them came to, one of them intrigued her the most. A girl with a labcoat or something similar to that in style. Although the others stirred and moved to the other rooms to talk and check on each other, Virtue ignored all of them.

As she looked, something seemed off to her. Maybe it had to do with her being split from basically reality to her? Or the fact she lost her only friends that she had met in awhile? Either way, looking at the girl made Virtue feel deserted, but at the same time disturbed. The disturbed part was hard to explain to herself, but when she looked at this girl, all she could feel was guilt? Sadness? Some form of pain? She probably didn't have much to judge as cuts were on her body, but it was clearly unbeknownst to her.

She yawned to herself sitting down, to think to herself and to see if this girl would wake up any time soon.

Aster handed Max the carving. "Thank you...but this a gift my mom made for me before she died." He said softly holding the broken piece,Tears welling up in his eyes. " I miss her.." He said softly running his fingers around its edges. Suddenly the sky darkened.

Oh no! Alice thought with dread. I've made it worse!

"I'm sorry about your mum, Max!" Alice said, trying to keep her voice steady. "She was right. You're going to be a hero..."

Suddenly the world seemed to shake. The boy stood up. "it..it found us.." he said.

Alice looked around. The monster? It was here?

*HE IS OURS....HE IS OURS!* A voice boomed out. Alice's hands flew to her ears. The voice itself was filled with such horror.

Alice tried to focus on Max, but the world had begun to fade. "No! Max!" she cried, reaching for the boy. But he was already gone. What have I done? Did I summon the monster?

*You want to see child..than see..*

Suddenly images flashed all around her. Alice felt dizzy and struggled to keep her footing. Aster had disappeared somewhere... she hoped he was safe. Then...Rose! Alice thought. She had almost forgotten that none of this was real. "Rose!" she cried. "Are you still there? I think we have to get out of here! Rose?! What's happening?!"

Just when Alice thought she would throw up, everything stopped with a jolt. Alice fell to her knees. She was watching another memory. One she didn't understand. A group of men spoke to Max's father, seemingly recruiting him. Alice tried to memorise everything they spoke about, convinced that everything she was seeing was important. A chrome Pokeball... a shiny Aipom... Max running in... but there was no time. The world shifted again. They were in the same room, but this time the men were talking to Max. His father... what had happened? And now Max was all alone in the world. Alice felt tears well in her eyes. All these things she hadn't known about Max. All this time, he was carrying so much pain.

The men continued to talk. Could they see the danger Max posed? Who were they? Alice studied their faces, trying to commit them to memory. Maybe they knew something about the shadow energy... Was this the power Max's father had given him? Alice couldn't imagine any parent being so cruel.

Alice watched the young Max crying, but this time he seemed determined. "Will show all of them." He growled, and for a second Alice could see how this poor child could be corrupted by such power. She thought about all the memories she had seen so far. Where are the happy memories? She wondered. The mother he loved... his relationship with Misty... the heroic trainer he was to become... Had the shadow energy erased all those things? Was that how it controlled him? Feeding on his fear and anger? She longed to give him happy memories, to battle to darkness, but she realised she didn't really know Max very well at all. She had never asked about his past in the short time they'd spent.

"Max," she said softly to the boy. "I don't know if you'll really remember any of this... But you have friends, people who care about you. Don't let the shadow energy control you. You're stronger than that. Everything you accomplished... all by yourself... you're a hero, Max. And you're not alone anymore. We'll fight for you. We won' give up on you, Max. But we need your help. You have to be strong, you have to fight this. Remember your friends! Your Pokemon! Remember me!"
