Meg wanted to fight.

Alice felt sick. It was exactly what Max had warned her against.

"We can't!" She yelled. "We're not strong enough to fight. We've barely been training for a week! Max said..." Alice was aware of the others nearby. "Max told me not to fight. Not to let you fight. He knew this was coming and he wanted us to leave the city!"

Alice was pretty sure Meg was not going to change her mind, but she hoped some of the others would see what a bad idea it was to run headfirst into danger.

The Alakazam from Max's base appeared. It seemed to summon a small group of Abra. Plume squawked from a nearby tree where she had been napping.

An Abra could be useful... Alice thought. If the others were going into danger, she knew she couldn't leave them. But maybe having a Pokemon with Teleport would be helpful.

Alice slowly approached the group of Abra. She focused on one on the edge of group. Abra were generally skittish and Alice didn't want to scare it away. She paused for a moment, giving the Abra time to get used to her presence, her thoughts. "Will you come with me?" Alice asked after a while. She held up a red and white ball. Without a word, the Abra reached out a hand and tapped it, then disappeared inside.
