An AR-15 rifle. And only a small handful of states have this kind of mess going on.

I know some people have skeptical opinions about owning or using guns, but to anyone that can, I highly encourage everyone to try a firearms training course at least once, because I know movies, media, video games, and junk like that paint a VERY different and unrealistic portrayal of how guns work. I've taken a pistol and shotgun training course and the instructors were extremely helpful and the experience was very enlightening when it comes to gun ownership, responsibility, and the real reality surrounding firearms. I think anyone that goes through at least some training and becomes educated with them from a trained instructor will have a very different feeling about them walking out of the classroom. If you know how they work, you know how to fire them, and you know the basics about how to be mature and responsible with them, it will definitely flush out a lot of the false nonsense that surrounds them.
Well, I live in Jersey too, so I'll probably have to go through the same painful experience you did to get one. :P
