The group led by Max eventually made it to a building in One City. The city itself was a disaster zone. Max led them to a spot from where they could observe Rose's tower.

The plan was to wait for the rebels to breach the wall. Alice felt impatient. Honedge's shadow Pokeball seemed to pulse in her hand. She went over what she knew about shadow Pokemon in her head. They were strong against all other types besides light types... It would be nice to have some of those... she sighed.

Alice wondered what would happen if they destroyed the gem. Maybe Rose would be free... but Giratina would still be out there. Would he try to take Max again? Alice glanced at Max. She would do her best not to let that happen. She wondered what Max remembered.

"I got your warning," Alice said to Max, "about Cerulean. I saw you... in a dream. You told us to get away. That was real... wasn't it?" she asked. The Max in her dream had an eyepatch too. At the time, Alice had thought Max was reaching out to her from the present, but now she knew the eyepatch was only a recent acquisiton. Had it been a message from a future Max then? The time stuff made her head hurt.

Earlier that day *I wanted to do a story of how Rocky got his Poochyena*

Rose sent Rocky for one final test, to select his own Shadow Pokemon.

He got to the Pokemon holding cells and signaled the guard to open the cage. The Guard had just seen Rocky smash in the face of a guard to take his gun, so he didn't argue and opened the cage.

Two Poochyena ran out snarling in fury at Rocky. He reached down and grabbed one by the throat and lifted it in the air.

"How about you? Do you want to come with me?" The Shadow Poochyena snarled and tried to bite Rocky's hand. "So that's a no. Fair enough!" Rocky pulled his gun and shot the Poochyena in the head. The Poochyena let out a yelp and Rocky dropped its lifeless body to the ground.

He then glared at the second Poochyena. "Am I going to have any problems with you?" The Poochyena stifled a snarl as it looked at the dead Poochyena on the ground and then at Rocky's gun. It lowered its head in submission.

"Good, you can kill anything and anyone except me and Rose! You even look like threatening one of us and you will be destroyed! Nod if you understand!" The Poochyena nodded and looked around snarling. "Follow me!" Rocky said leading the Poochyena away.

Rocky kicked the Shadow Poochyena away and threw off his attackers. One of them was thrown right through a wall. He grinned, they were pitiful weaklings before his glorious shadow might.

"Blood Feast! Come out here." Rocky's vicious shadow poochyena came out, shrinking away from Rocky as it sensed his anger, but then snarling in fury at the intruders.

"These ones you can kill and eat, Blood Feast! Attack!"

Max watched the tower searching for something in his thoughts. "Meghgan keep your head down." He said to himself. Max paced around the far side of the room away from the others trying to focus. As Alice approached he began to focus and started to get a picture of Meghan, Logan and Rocky fighting. Then it was gone.

" I dont know whats real." Max said unsure of what to say. He turned to Alice and walked right up to her reaching out to grab her hand.
" I know that I saw you in my dreams or my memories. I know for sure that some place deep down buried away that you are there. I dont know how but I know it. When I was locked away inside of Dredd my soul was ripped apart what I remember about my own actions are hard to say. I just know what deep down inside I remember you, I remember Rose and I remember Meghan. " Max didnt let go of Alice hand.

" We are going to get everyone back safely." He let go of her hand and took just a moment to put his hand across her cheek.

" I can sense that Cerulean was tough for you and your friends but I can also sense just how amazing you all are." He said still looking the trainer in the eyes. He slowly removed his hand.

" I dont normally listen to me either he said." Smiling for a moment before it faded away.

Then at once he could feel it. He could sense the fight perfectly fine.

Meghan lay on the floor and she could sense Max was near.


Max looked at the team.

"We are moving out now, but not all of us." He said

"Stacy I need you, Paul and Ty to stay back. This isnt your fight and we can put your brother at risk."

Stacy huffed folding her arms but realized he was right.
" I dont like this but keeping Ty safe is all that matters." She said looking at her brother.

Paul nodded.
" Helping keep these two safe is good enough for me."


Max looked at Alice, Kyo and Brandon.
" There is no pulling any punches here. We are going to need head right into the mouth of the beast and it will know we are coming. Meghan is in danger and is about to meet Giratina. Follow me and do NOT stop moving." Max commanded leading the team down the stairs and straight towards the tower.


As they rushed towards the tower shadow pokemon started to poke there heads out and run towards the team chasing them down the street. The team continued to run until they found they were surrounded by shadow pokemon and the tower was still a block away. Max motioned the others to stand beside him. He alone stepped towards the shadow pokemon. The pokemon didnt attack him. The moved around him blocking him off from the others for a moment. Max could feel the shadow energy around him. Like that of drug he had given up. Alice more so than the others could see the small connection to the monster dredd in this moment. The shadow energy still apart of Max. Max however shook this high off and backed away. The shadow pokemon to backed away clearing the pathway.

In this new world Max had many tests to pass.
" We should be clear now..." he said keeping his head down.

The group rushed to the tower with the suns starting to rise. As they fought there way into the building it had already begun fifty stories up.

Garit smiled.
" I suspect your friends are waiting for you now. Though you should hurry before your new guard dog finishes them off." He laughed

Rose quickly rushed out of the room and down two floors to Rocky's room. She ripped the door off its hinges with a shadow blast commanding Rocky to stop.


Rocky and his Shadow pokemon stopped. Meghan ang Logan were both shaken up already when the door came down. Logan looked at Rose.
" Its the dark witch!" he growled he went to grab something to attack but stopped looking at Meghan.

" We are not here to hurt you!" Logan said but was quickly shut up and Rocky charged over knocking the trainer to the ground. Logan laid on the ground calling back to the shadow pokemon.
" I surrender" He said on the ground


Meghan was now face to face with Rose for the first time since all this happened.

Ty leaned against the far window peering out.
"This place is both super creepy and cool..but creepy first.' He said softly to Stacy.

Stacy didnt like waiting
" Mostly creepy Ty." She said staying close to him.

" Guys there was always a plan in which we infiltrated the tower but it hinged on normal people. Meghan would have had to made a move by now. The sun is coming up."

Alice was surprised when Max reached for her. He grabbed her hand as he spoke about what he could remember when he was Dredd. What he said made Alice feel sad. She had known all along that he was inside the monster, but a part of her had hoped that he had become Dredd, as horrible as that was. Being inside the monster would be a hundred times worse. Alice squeezed his hand. When he released her, she thought of Rose. Was the real Rose trapped as well? Was she seeing what she had done, powerless to stop it? Alice could imagine nothing worse. Max seemed to sense her thoughts because after a second he said "We are going to get everyone back safely."

Max placed his hand on Alice's cheek. Alice felt her face redden as he looked at her so intently. She forgot about the city crumbling around them, and the danger they were in. For the first time since she had woken up in the prison, she felt like everything was real, not just some nightmare. And for a second she could maybe come to terms with losing her friends... with losing her Pokemon... because here was Max, okay again. But the feeling soon passed.

" I can sense that Cerulean was tough for you and your friends but I can also sense just how amazing you all are." he said. Alice couldn't help but smile. Pride bloomed in her chest. In that moment, she wanted nothing more than to make Max proud. His gaze was penetrating, as if he could read her easily. She supposed with his strange powers that he probably could. He lowered his hand again.

" I dont normally listen to me either," Max said, smiling briefly. Alice had tried to make the others listen when she'd had the dream of Max, but in the end they had gotten caught up in the battle for Cerulean anyway.

Suddenly, Max moved away. He seemed to have sensed something because he was getting the team organised to move out. Alice forced herself back into fight mode. She thought of Aster.

"Meghan is in danger and is about to meet Giratina. Follow me and do NOT stop moving." Max said. Alice eyes widened, and her gaze flickered to Kyo. Of course, Meg would have gotten herself in the middle of everything. Of course, she would try and save Rose. As they rushed toward Rose's tower, Alice hoped Meg was alright.

As they ran, shadow Pokemon started to appear, seemingly attracted by something. Alice gripped Honedge's Pokeball as she ran, but she hoped she wouldn't have to use it. Unfortunately, they were soon surrounded. As they slowed, Max herded Alice, Kyo and Brandon behind him. Alice yelled out when the shadow Pokemon converged on him, but they did not attack. For a moment, Alice felt a stab of fear, the same sense that the monster Dredd had inspired. Were the shadows calling to Max, even now? Before she could panic, Max had shaken them off and the Pokemon scattered. " We should be clear now..." he said, not looking at them. As long as Giratina and the shadows existed, Max would never be free, Alice knew. One day they would defeat the god of death for good. One day... but not yet.

As the sun rose, they reached the base of the tower. Alice gave Kyo a nervous smile. "Here we go!" she said, clutching a shadow Pokeball in each hand as she ran in after Max. Nothing to lose... Alice said to herself, but she thought of the boy with the eyepatch and knew it wasn't quite true.

Gerit warned Rose that she should hurry. Quickly, she walked out of her room and ran down two flights of stairs to reach Rocky's room. Being in a rush, she decided that the best thing to do was to just blow down the door. Probably just for dramatic effect. "Enough!" Rose commanded Rocky. "I can't have you killing them just yet." She explained with a sinister smile. "I wouldn't stop you if you wanted to rough him up a bit though." She continued, looking at Logan.

" Its the dark witch!" Logan called out.

"Is that any way to address to your queen?" Rose asked mockingly. Rocky proceeded to knock him to the ground. Rose looked back to Meghan. "It's been a while." Rose said, greeting her. "I should thank you for this, Meghan. Your transmission is going to bring the others straight here." She explained. "This couldn't have gone so smoothly without you." She sat down on a chair at the side of the room.

"As thanks for helping me, I'll give you a choice. You can either become my servant, or you can die here and now." She explained, grinning. "Knowing you though, I already know what you'll pick."

Once again she had tried. And once again she had failed. Cursing herself, Meghan grasped her chest as it burned in pain from her exertion. She hadn't pushed herself this hard in some time, and she knew she had to get herself to calm down. If she didn't...Well, she had ran out of her medication a long time ago. It wasn't going to save her this time. As Rose entered the room, Meghan felt her heart sink in her chest. She had known she would see her eventually, but she hadn't expected it to be so soon. She knew she needed to reach her, and destroy the dark gem, but now that she was face to face with Rose...

"You know I can't choose either of those." She said, after casting a weary glance in Rocky's direction. He was unpredictable, very much so, but as long as Rose commanded him, she had some safety. She didn't want them dead, not yet. If she could stall for time...

"I didn't come here to die, and I certainly didn't come here to serve you or Gerit. I'm getting you out of here, Rose, and I'm going to destroy the Dark Gem in the process."

She squared her shoulders, standing up as straight as she possible could. She had a plan, but it was extremely risky.

"But if you want to try and take me under your control, you're welcome to try."

Rocky moved in to snap the traitor's neck.

"Enough!" Rose stopped him. "I can't have you killing them just yet.I wouldn't stop you if you wanted to rough him up a bit though."

The male traitor called Rose a witch.

With a rush of blood Rocky smashed the impertinent man to the ground. Rocky wanted to take this man's head clean of but Rose had been clear, 'rough him up but don't kill him.' Rocky pulled back his foot and started kicking the man furiously in the ribs.

He chuckled in glee at the pain he was causing the man on the ground.

"Get me out of here?" Rose questioned, bursting into laughter. "And how do you plan on doing that?" She continued. "If I were you, I'd be worried about how you are going to get yourself out of here." Rose knew Meghan was planning something. She knew Meghan was rash, but not stupid. What exactly she was planning, she wasn't sure, but she wasn't particularly concerned.

"if you want to try and take me under your control, you're welcome to try." Meghan said.

"Is that a challenge?" Rose questioned, standing up. It was only now that she realized that this time would be nothing like the last time. Her power had recovered quite a bit from when she had enslaved Rocky, but she was still not back at full strength. Would she be able to do it again without all of her power? She wasn't sure, but she refused to let herself seem weak. "Very well." Rose said. "Rocky, make sure that neither of them try to do anything."

Rose closed her eyes and began to concentrate. She held onto the gem that hung around her neck and began to focus on Meghan, taking a deep breathe. She began to try what she had done the last time, but she was beginning to doubt whether or not she could pull it off. ((I fully expect this to fail))

Once the team entered the building it all moved so fast. Max didnt hold back his anger. As he marched into the tower he used his psychic powers. To clear a path. Right behind the team shadow pokemon started to gather around the building. The guards scrambled to get away from the team and there shadow pokemon. As they presed the alarm to warn everyone red lights began to flash.
"Send back up!" The man shouted into his walkie.

The guard scrambled to open up the security lockers to get the stun guns. Lord Garit stood in his office looking out over the city. The sun was coming up and the rebels were now in sight. He picked up the phone.

"We have no time for these distractions. Get the troops in gear and ready to meet the rebels. We can let the building security and Lordess Rose and her new pet handle this. Besides I have been looking forward to meeting Meghan and her friends. And of course see my old friend again. So clear a path for them and protect this tower!" He shouted.

He took out a brush combing his long white hair back. Then walked to the door and headed to find Rose.


Three floors down Rose attempted to turn Meghan into a shadow zombie like Rocky. As she did that Rocky finally stopped kicking Lorgan who was still fighting back. When he saw Meghan in trouble he started to crawl. Rocky turned sliently to watch. However Rose was not strong enough yet and Meghan was to focused. Meghan back the attack on her mind holding on as long as possible until the alarm set. When it went off she knew something was going on.

Rose stopped feeling weakened and disappointed in herself. The alarm angered her. She could sense Max in the building haulting the attack. She ordered Rocky to take Meghan and Logan and move them to the roof top.

In the lobby Max, Alice , Kyo and Brandon fought through the outslought of building security. When the 10 or 12 were cleared they rushed the elevators where 20 more guards rushed out in riot gear to stop them.

Max smiled
" Alice, take Kyo and Brandon and take the stairs. Do not stop for anything. Rose knows you are here and she will be waiting for you. Do not trust anything she says or does." He commanded.

Max dropped his bag smiling at the guards. He rolled up his sleeves.
" You men have one chance to drop your weapons and leave. The days of worshiping a false god are over." He growled


The guards only wanted Max and cleared a path for Alice and the others.

With Max's help, the group was able to make it past Rose's security and into the building. Just as they found time to breathe, a new ave of guards came down in an elevator.

" Alice, take Kyo and Brandon and take the stairs. Do not stop for anything. Rose knows you are here and she will be waiting for you. Do not trust anything she says or does." Max commanded. Alice found the smile on his face a little unnerving, but she nodded.

"Cme on!" she yelled to Kyo and Brandon as she ran for the stairs. The shadow Honedge she had claimed hovered after the group, keeping an eye on their backs.

" You men have one chance to drop your weapons and leave. The days of worshiping a false god are over." Alice heard Max growl at the men as she pushed into the stairwell.

"Find the gem and destroy it however you can," Alice puffed as they ran up the stairs.
