Lots of people seem to have kids when they can't afford it haha. I dunno if it's worse over there, but there seems to be plenty of support here (and tax breaks xD).

I'd love to buy a house in the next year or so but prices keep going up like crazy o_O My mum watches a lot of US property shows and the houses over there seem so cheap in comparison XD I'm sure it depends where you are, but you guys have so many cities and stuff while we have like... 6 main ones maybe, so everyone is crowded round them. :( So yeah if I won the lottery I would buy a cute house. I don't even want a big house or anything, and would love to live further out in the country if I didn't have to travel to the city for work anyway. @_@

The way our welfare system works you get more free money the more kids you have, ergo people have lots of kids they can't afford to get more money to not spend on the kids they have. One of the people I went to high school with was in such a family. They had eleven siblings by the time they graduated (they were a middle child), their mom was pregnant with another child, and the eldest two sisters were both pregnant.
