Same... I'm at the point where I have to go collect Type:Null, I think. But catching weird ultra beasts doesn't really interest me. :( All my good battlers are on ORAS and I don't really want to transfer them, especially as I can't get all their mega stones in SM.

they're still in the process of just giving out the mega stones actually. Dunno if they'll ever come out with them all sadly

Yeah, I can't remember which stones are already available, but I do know that the Kanto Starter Megas can be used, as they're the prize you get for getting a 20-win streak in Battle Tree Singles. You can also trade Battle Points for Mega Stones here, but I don't remember exactly which ones.

Also, quick warning to everyone, the Battle Tree is a lot more merciless than the Battle Mansion ever was. Is it more merciless than Battle Frontier, though? That I honestly don't know since I didn't know how to train Pokemon competitively back then, so I never even attempted those facilities.
