I've been looking through the rules and there doesn't seem any real penalty for exorcising the wrong person (apart from still losing the sanity) Of course there could easily be some other things we don't know about.

Okay so Neo just answered, if an innocent pokemon is exorcised they still die and their death adds points to the Doom Tracker!

Yeah I remember that from last time... but I'm like 99% sure on Kanja. I mean we checked every other green Pokemon! xD Unless Neo flat out lied to us, it has to be her.
