When work just drives you insane

I work at a place called Round 1. It's a Japanese version of Dave and Busters but with bowling and karaoke. I work on the Amusement side and help take care of the arcade floor. I have 2 managers with 1 of them doing damn little. I opened for Thanksgiving and it was basically dead for most of the day. We were told that we had to make everything look perfect seeing as how we had all the time in the world. And so we did and it's not like we had to rush. I had told one of the other girls if she would take care of the cranes and restock them I would take care of the Redemption Room when I opened and so we did.

We apparently were suppose to take care of all the new shipment of plush that came in. But how do you take care of something that you were never shown how to. Mind you this is coming from the manager who we have to call over the walkie talkie to come to the counter. Not only that but this was something that we were expected to do.

If we are expected to do something then you are expected as a manager to show us. We shouldn't have to ask how to do our jobs.

I can't complain, it's rare for me to have a rough day at work. And if I do, it's usually just because I have one Quality Evaluation guy who changes his mind about how he wants things done and can get a little picky sometimes. He's a decent guy at the end of the day, so it turns out fine when things get done. It usually just means chunks of overtime, but I get compensated for that by being able to leave work earlier on other days.

Trust me, I've had other jobs where things were MUCH, MUCH worse. To the point where I was almost in tears at the end of the day.

The fact your place was open on Thanksgiving is silly and stupid. I'm not surprised business was slow and it just seems like it was a waste of everyone's time to be open on a holiday that people should be celebrating with family.

Wow that's crazy... Did your work expect that but decide it was worth the fine?

I don't have a job right now so I can't complain. xD

We are supposed to be open 365 10am-2am. But I'm sure that places have to follow rules of where your at no matter what you are. We had our gate down and locked so it's not like you could get into the rest of the mall.

I work in the largest, busiest Theme Park in the UK. The amount of stupidity from guests is frankly astronomical, some of my favourite examples:

Not knowing how Velcro works
Thinking a phone can survive a 30ft drop at 40mph
Thinking we haven't spotted them filming on their phone against the rules

And of course:

Has anyone died on this?


And then there are the ride geeks. *shudders* Why anyone would want to try and stroke parts of the track/cars, I have no idea...

That's when I wait for them to get on the ride and then tell them people die on this ALL the time.........have fun and then send them on their way....lol.

And undoubtedly end up in a disciplinary for it knowing our place lol. It doesn't help that we had a major accident in 2015 which was the #1 news story for a few weeks, the number of horrible jokes we hear about it is frightening.

If your that worried about a ride then its simple.......don't go on it. If you even have to ask about it then you shouldn't even bother getting on it.
