Welcome to the round table!
It is Pokemon Podcast Month and we got some exclusive content from your favorite Pokemon podcasters! From GO, TCG, talk, to tabletop and beyond! We have sent out the classic Podcasters Questionnaire to see what your favorite Pokemon podcasters have to say about podcasting!
And today we have….Jonathan from The Round Table Chat(ot) to talk about podcasting and everything in between!
So what does the Round Table Chat(ot) have to say about…
What type of podcast do you have? Why do you make the type of podcast that you make?
Jonathan: Pokémon GO mainly, but with a little (lots) of stupidity along the way! |
What drew you to the Pokemon franchise?
Jonathan: The hosts, OleJonnyOneBall and Shadowprime34, have been lifelong Pokémon fans. We met in college, hit it off, and never looked back! |
What inspired you to podcast?
Jonathan: We started listening to Pokémon GO Radio, and with blood brothers as their hosts, we had a little bit of that as brothers from another mothers. It lent itself to basically putting microphones between us as we record how we normally are in every day life. |
What keeps you going when it comes to podcasting and Pokemon?
Jonathan: The fun we get to have while recording. We are one of the few shows in the space that actually get to record together in person, so the camaraderie of podcasting and Pokémon are already built in to our every day lives. |
What kind of feeling do you wish your listeners to have when listening to your podcast?
Jonathan: We want them to feel like they’re enjoying the time together with us. Our tangents, rabbit holes, and downright topic-less topics are all part of who we are normally. We say every episode that everyone has a seat at the table, and we really do mean it. |
What is the hardest part when it comes to podcasting?
Jonathan: Slow news can be difficult, but vamping and going off the rails as a duo help us to trademark what we’re really about: the fun you get to have with people you enjoy. |
What has been the best Podcast moment you have had?
Jonathan: Prior to starting out, we went to IHOP to hash out what we really wanted to do with the show. Building that skeleton of our show and knowing we’d often be off topic really let us be who we wanted to be, while talking Pokémon with ourselves, our friends, and anyone who wants to listen to two besties just hang out with an audio setup so everyone can join us at the table. |
If you can suggest an episode of your podcast to a new listener, which episode would it be? Why?
Thank you for Jonathan from Round Table Chat(ot) for answering our questions. We hope that you give Round Table Chat(ot) a listen if you haven’t already. If you are a listener then let us know!
Signing off! Until next time!
