Pokemon GO is starting January with plenty of things to do!
Pokemon GO has announced plenty of events for January. There will be many things to from new Breakthrough Research, Team GO Rockets, Hatching events, Heatran and new Pokemon to catch!
Research Breakthrough
New Research Breakthrough rewards have been revealed. If you are good at keeping up with your Research Breakthrough stamps then you will get the chance to catch a Lapras. This Lapras is pretty special because it knows Ice Shard and Ice Beam. Both of these attacks are consider Legacy Moves for Lapras.
Lapras will be in Research Breakthrough boxes from Wednesday, January 1st, 2020 to Saturday, February 1st, 2020.
Team GO Rocket Updates
Those who are on the hunt for Team GO Rocket will be able to activate another Special Research. If you are able to complete this Special Research by the end of January then you will see Giovanni awaiting you with a Shadow Moltres. Defeat him and you will be given the chance to save Shadow Moltres.
Adventure Sync Hatchathon is Back!
The Adventure Sync Hatchathon is back! This time with plenty of reasons to hatch! This Hatchathon is perfect for those who want to get plenty of steps in for the New Year.
Some of the rewards that you will get from the Hatchathon will include 2x Hatch Stardust and 2x Hatch Candy. You will also get the chance to get some Unova Stones.
The party doesn’t stop there! You will be able to hatch and catch some Pokemon wearing Party Hats! Some of the feature Pokemon wearing Party Hats will include Pikachu, Pichu, Wurmple, Raticate and Wobbuffet.

The Adventure Sync Hatchathon will start on January 2nd, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. to Thursday, January 16th, 2020.
Warm Up with Heatran!
If you need something to warm you up then you are in luck! That is because Heatran is coming back to Legendary Raids.
Starting on Tuesday, January 7th, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. to Tuesday, February 4th, 2020, you will be able to see Heatran in Legendary Raids.
If you are lucky then you may encounter a Shiny Heatran!
New Unova Pokemon in the New Year!
New Pokemon from the Unova region will soon be coming to Pokemon GO! Details are scarce but you can expect to see them coming in January.
Pokemon GO is making sure that trainers are out! Especially to keep them active in the New Year!
