The Pokemon TCG is getting ready for summer with the announcement of their third Sun & Moon set.
The third Sun & Moon TCG set has been announced and it will be another split set. This time the two sets are called Did You See the Fighting Rainbow? and Light-Consuming Darkness. Ho-Oh GX and Necrozma-GX will be the featured Pokemon for the sets. Each set will have 51 cards plus secret rares which means that a total of over 102 new cards.
Just like most past summer sets, these sets are suppose to be tie-ins for the summer Pokemon movie: Pokemon, I Choose You! Not much is known about the movie except for it is suppose to involve Ash and Ho-oh. One of the TCG sets will include Ho-oh based on the dummy pack images and the inclusion of rainbow in the title. So that could serve as the tie-in for the movie.
We do not know if Necrozma will be involved in the movie. Maybe because Necrozma is based on a prism which is able to take light and separate it into a spectrum of colors. Similar to a rainbow which Ho-Oh is has ties to.
There is no word on when these sets will be coming to the United States but most likely these will be combined to be our English Fall TCG set after Guardians Rising.
Did You See the Fighting Rainbow? and Light-Consuming Darkness will be release in Japan on June 16th.
