A new event brings a new Legendary Pokémon.
The Luminous Legends X event is winding down, and hot on it’s heels, is The Luminous Legends Y event. This means that Dark-Type Pokémon will be spawning more and even the darkest of bad guys, Team GO Rocket, will be back to stir up some trouble. But that’s not all we have to look forward to, There promises to be a new Eeveelution also making it’s Pokémon GO debut! That’s right, Sylveon, is coming to help lend a hand in taking down those dastardly foes.
What’s Spawning
As mentioned, Dark-Type Pokémon, such as Houndour and Carvanha will take centre stage. However, during the first part of this event, which begins on May 18th, you can also find Fairy-Type Pokémon from the previous weeks event too. That’s right, Spritzee, Swirlix and Goomy, will still be out and about, so make sure you catch enough to be able to evolve them before they become more scarce.
What’s Hatching
Last week we unlocked Pancham who has been found in 1 Star Raid. Starting Tuesday, Pancham is moving to 12 km Strange eggs.
In addition to Pancham, you can also find: Qwilfish, Larvitar, Absol, Skorupi, Sandile, Scraggy, Pawniard, Vullaby, and Deino. These Pokémon will continue to hatch even after the event ends. Also changing is the 7 km egg pool. Hatching from those you can find: Alolan Rattata, Alolan Meowth, Alolan Grimer, Sneasel, Poochyena, Stunky, and Purrloin.
Research Rewards
Lots of goodies can be yours if you work for it. Galarian Zigzagoon, Scraggy, and more can be found for completing various tasks. This includes Team GO Rocket inspired Timed Research which will lead to encountering various Dark-type Pokémon like Galarian Zigzagoon.
Coming To A Raid Near You
It’s no secret that the Destruction Pokémon, Yveltal, will be making it’s Pokémon GO debut in 5 Star Raids. Look hard enough and you might even find Alolan Meowth. Save up those Raid Passes and get some friends together to take down the Dark/Flying-Type Legendary Pokémon before it disappears. You don’t want to miss this opportunity to add Yveltal to your Pokédex.
The Global Challenge
From Saturday, May 15, 2021, at 12:00 a.m. to Sunday, May 23, 2021, at 11:59 p.m. UTC, you can work together with other Trainers worldwide to defeat 25 million Team GO Rocket Grunts in total.
If that goal is met, a 3X catch XP bonus will be in effect from Tuesday, May 25, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. to Monday, May 31, 2021, at 8:00 p.m. local time. Also Shiny Galarian Zigzagoon will be unlocked and you will be able to find it in 1 Star Raids. This Shiny Galarian Zigzagoon will continue to found, even after the event ends.
Part 2
As mentioned earlier, all that was just part 1. Part 2 will add Sylveon to the game. Earn hearts with Eevee as your buddy to be able to evolve it into Sylveon.
Early reports also suggest that you can nickname an Eevee “Kyra” and it will be able to evolve too. This nickname trick only works once, and as of the time of writing this, it is unconfirmed.
7 km eggs pools will change to hatch more Fairy-Type Pokémon such as: Eevee, Cleffa, Igglybuff, Togepi, Azurill, Spritzee, and Swirlix. In 3 Star Raids you will find: Vaporeon, Jolteon, Flareon, Espeon, and Umbreon. You will also find some Sylveon inspired apparel in the Shop.
