It’s Tuesday which means it’s time for Crossroads Comics!
This week we’re taking a look at PMD: Explorers of Life, a long time resident comic on Pokémon Crossroads! PMD: Explorers of Life takes place many years in the future from the Pokémon world we know, where humans and Pokémon waged war on one another, the humans lost, being wiped out. Remnants of human civilization remain, but Pokémon kind is left to restart anew without humans. Enter Grey, a human turned Mew who has no memories of his past save for being a human. Landing in a strange new world generations after his kind was wiped out, he teams up with a Ralts named Ral to form Team Psykick. PMD: Explorers of Life follows their adventures as they work together to not only help out those in need but also discover Grey’s past and memories in the mean time. This comic is one of my long time favorites as it not only shows great artistic improvement throughout its continued run, but also has a unique cast of characters that make things interesting. For me personally though, the worldbuilding is the most interesting piece. As the story continues we explore more and more of the lost human world that’s been adapted and altered by Pokémon. The societies have changed and adapted, but at what cost? It’s a very interesting read that I highly recommend.
