Pokemon Bank Now Available in Europe, Australia, and New Zealand

That’s right! For Pokemon fans in Europe, Australia and New Zealand, you can now download Pokemon Bank in the Nintendo eShop! It’s free until March 14, 2014. After that, you’ll have to pay the amount of £4.49 in the United Kingdom, €4.99 in Europe, $6.50 in Australia, or $8.50 in New Zealand. More information about Pokemon Bank can be found under the cut!

Pokemon fans all over the world have been anticipating Pokemon Bank’s release. Following the release in the Japanese eShop in December, Nintendo experienced server issues as people were creating new Nintendo Network IDs, which caused the eShop to be inaccessible. Pokemon Bank was pulled from the Japanese eShop several times before they released it on January 22nd. Before the rest of the world could download it, Nintendo delayed the release to help fix the server issues.

When you download Pokemon Bank, the Poke Transporter app is also downloaded. Poke Transporter will allow you to transfer your beloved Pokemon from the Generation V games to the Bank. Bank is capable of holding 3000 Pokemon in boxes that are outside of the PC boxes in Pokemon X and Y. Pokemon Bank is run by Brigette who was previously the host of Pokemon Box: Ruby and Sapphire. She will give you either 100 Poke Miles or you can opt to receive rewards in the form of Battle Points instead. Poke Miles are rewarded for the length of time a Pokemon is deposited. The more Pokemon you add to Pokemon Bank, the more Poke Miles you can receive.

If you access Pokemon Bank before September 30th, 2014, you will receive the elusive Pokemon, Celebi. This Celebi is level 10, in a Luxury Ball, the ability Natural Cure, with the moves Hold Back, Recover, Heal Bell, and Safeguard, and also has a Classic Ribbon.

Poke Transporter now makes it possible for one to complete the National Dex by transferring over Pokemon that you can’t normally find in the Kalos region. You also have access to Pokemon knowing moves they could only learn in previous games.

Nintendo has not announced a release date for the Americas. They have only said that Americans will have Pokemon Bank soon, as they posted on their official Twitter account. You can find more information about Pokemon Bank at the official Pokemon Bank website. Ali Al-Karam contributed to this article.
