TCG Jump: Featured Card- Ghetsis

Ghetsis
This week we are going to look at one of the many supporters within Plasma Freeze, Ghetsis. This card is as tricky as the character it is based on. It can be quite mysterious too as it is hard to predict where this card will go in the metagame but it has been gaining some talk.

So why use Ghetsis? This card has many purposes. Ghetsis allows you to look at your opponent’s hand and then makes them shuffle any Item cards in their hand back into their deck. Once that is done, you can draw cards from your deck equal to the amount of Item cards your opponent returned to their deck. It can basically be used as a way to disrupt your opponent’s hand while acting as draw support.

If your opponent has two Pokemon Catchers, a Float Stone and Switch then those four items would be shuffle back into their deck. Then you get to draw four cards. That is pretty nice as you can gain more resources while your opponent loses some. If your opponent doesn’t have any items in their hand then you can at least find out what they are planning to do next based on what you saw in their hand. It is a win-win situation.

How will this card fair in the metagame? That is undecided at the moment. Being able to disrupt your opponent’s hand is quite useful. The negative side is that you do not know how many cards you will draw using Ghetsis. You may end up drawing five cards while leaving your opponent with only one card or you may end up drawing nothing and potentially wasted your Supporter for the turn. Another situation may arise where you actually help your opponent by using Ghetsis to return a handful of important items to the deck and thus allow your opponent to use an almost guilt free Professor Juniper their next turn. Who knows how often this will happen but just like all cards in this game, there is always risk.

Ghetsis is a rare card and you can go though a whole box without getting one. Good luck in finding this elusive man and any other cards from Plasma Freeze.
