Two new sets have been announced for Japan. The sets names are ‘Tidal Storm’ and ‘Gaia Volcano’. These sets look to be themed and based after OmegaRuby and Alpha Sapphire but are going to be part of the XY block. This means that XY sets will continue on with this set. ‘Tidal Storm’ and ‘Gaia Volcano’ will both include 70 cards. 140 cards will be added to the TCG metagame with these two sets. It can be guessed that we will see cards for Primal Groudon and Primal Kyorge.
Also being release with ‘Tidal Storm’ and ‘Gaia Volcano’ will be a collection similar to the Mega Metagross Premium Collection that will be release in the United States. The Japanese Mega Metagross Collection will included promos for Metagross EX, M Metagross EX, Torchic and three booster packs of ‘Tidal Storm’ and ‘Gaia Volcano’. The Torchic card is being labeled as a “New Logic Card”. It is unsure what this means and what kind of mechanic this may bring to the TCG.
There has been no news about the release of ‘Tidal Storm’ and ‘Gaia Volcano’ for the US. Judging by past releases, the United States may see this set release in February 2015.
‘Tidal Storm’, ‘Gaia Volcano’ and the Japanese version of the Mega Metagross Collection will be release in Japan on December 13th, 2014.
