For example, I live in a dorm in college four out of the six months, so I seldom get to see my dog. Regardless what I put for anxiety/depression, there probably won't be any correlation between my anxiety/depression and my owning a dog.
This is mostly broad (because I can only put ten questions, otherwise I'd have to pay for it. >:(((). The thing I'm looking for is simply just if someone who has owned a dog, cat, or both (particularly in childhood) has a mental illness to see if there's a correlation of neurosis in those that have owned dogs, cats, both, or neither. I wanted to go a bit more in depth, but SurveyMonkey wants money...They even wanted money for me removing the dang banner at the bottom. :/

Ahhhh, that's understandable! (Darn SurveyMonkey; do you know how many people in school use you for stuff??? which is probably why they ask for money, orz)

I'm gonna fill it out in a sec; hope you get enough data for your assignment!

    Hey I'm kind of alive. ;w;
    What is happiness?
    It's being called by someone
It's being able to call someone
It's when someone is thinking of you
But Heaven has none of this
A lizard girl took pity on God
So the lizard girl tore God in two and brought a half from Heaven to Earth

You're more alive than this thread. This ought to be renamed MCC (Monthly Chit Chat).

Hey, I'm game with bringing this back to life!

In other news, this is my last week of work before my job ends and I have to hop on unemployment. Honestly, I kind of need a little time to catch up with some stuff (car needs an oil change, need to pay the eye doctor and dentist a visit, got papers to sort out, and I still need to pack away Christmas decorations), but I hope it doesn't last for too long.

Good luck on finding that balance! I know exactly what you're talking about. I've been unemployed for 5-months. At first, it was a real load of the ol' back, and I productively accomplished my to-do's. As the to-do list dwindled, I got progressively less motivated until the real problem became I just wasn't doing much of anything because the sense of urgency to accomplish anything was gone. It'll catch up to me at some point when I realize I'm out of money AND I squandered all my free time.

On a positive note, I made use of the opportunity to be active here for more than 30 minutes per year.

Yeah, I've been on unemployment before, and there were times when I felt like I was on it for way too long (I hate watching a savings account dwindle lower and lower). And yeah, I can totally relate to those feelings. The job I'm going to be leaving had a lot of great people (they even treated me to a farewell lunch at Friendly's today and we had a great time), but the work itself is horrendously difficult!. I'm going to miss these awesome guys, but the work itself... definitely not my cup of tea at all. It was so complicated, convoluted, and always changing itself around with new rules/regulations while unexpectedly pulling the rug out from under me that there have been days where I felt like I had some kind of learning or mental disability. I have a feeling the expectations are too high and honestly, I wouldn't be the first person to drop out because it got to be too complex and... I have a feeling I'm not going to be the last either.

But, all in all, I'm hoping the next job I find will be better. I'm feeling hopeful and optimistic about it.

I finally came up with a good idea for an avatar!

Unfortunately, my execution of said good idea is more than terrible because of my non-existent art skills. The result of which can be seen to the left. Sorry.

Anyone else changed their avatar recently? Or had their lack of skills embarrass them?
    Completing Generation III

Heartfelt thanks to Neo Emolga for my avatar!

Haha nice one @Elbub! I've only had two avatars the whole time I've been on this forum... I probably changed to this one like a year ago but it still seems new to me and like I shouldn't change it yet xD

Hope everything works out with you @Neo Emolga! I hope you find something really great and fun :D Since my scholarship ran out, I haven't been earning anything but I still have no free time because I'm still working xD Its the worst! Haha. I really need to get the brakes on my car checked and go to the dentist and get a haircut... Gah xD

I recently changed my avatar. The old one had Emolga with a berry branch, but I came across this one after digging around and thought it was pretty sweet.

As for embarrassment from a lack of skills, I'm definitely not a sports pro, that's for sure. On top of that, my dad and my brother also go to a bar for a trivia night thing, and I used to go but stopped after realizing I have absolutely ZERO sports and pop culture knowledge, and they're constantly asking questions in those areas. What's even worse is I can't look at my phone to pass the time because if you do that, they suspect you're cheating by Googling answers and the team you're sitting with will get disqualified.
