I plan on getting another guide up over the weekend and maybe post up some good resources I've found in terms of brushes, fonts, other guides, etc. (Not all the brushes I use are free, but they are DEFINITELY worth it for the quality.) I'll put links to all this on the main post of all PMDXR threads when it's ready. xD
That would be EPIC, because I mainly use the default Photoshop brushes. I imagine that probably makes you cringe just thinking about it, but yeah... this is why I use pen tools in other programs for line art. Shading and highlights are done using the default brushes which... leave a lot to be desired. XD

And yeah, it's been kinda crazy for me too. We're all one big crazy family here exchanging craziness. XD

I'll be sure to get this all together first chance I get! Right now I'm doing some spring cleaning for the comics section as a whole. I started with making the PMDXR threads a little nicer. Everything should be looking better before long. I included links to the tips/tricks/guides/resources thread on every PMDXR thread, so hopefully that'll help. xD

THANK YOU, you're an angel. XD

I appreciate this a lot, because I really just don't have the drawing brushes I need and I'm not even sure what's a good one and what's just scrappy when it comes to looking around online for them. With these, since I definitely know you use these brushes to do the awesome work you do in what feels like record time give-Usain-Bolt-a-run-for-his-money speed, I know they're the real deal. :3

I put together a post that includes a few brush sets up in the tips/tricks/guides thread. It's includes some of the brush sets I use or keep meaning to use. Both free and paid! I'll be adding things like links to guides and videos that I think are worth looking at later, too!

I HIGHLY recommend Kyle's Megapack. In there are included some of the BEST inking brushes I've seen to date. Compare my lineart from early PRS days to today- look carefully enough and I'm sure you'll be able to pick out the page I started using his brushes for my lineart. xD

Anyway, time to hunt down my favorite guides and whatnot!

WOW. Plot twist already. xD Great job there! Is it such a good idea to say that out loud though, Edgar? I dunno... people might start thinking you're crazy!

Looks great overall! And this is your first comic page? Ever? Or in a long time? xD Either way, doesn't show!

Edit: Also, no wonder this took you 12 hours. You did a extreme wide shot at the end. xD Those are killer on the time.

Yeah, I hope people are okay with the plot twist. I've been reading Deadpool and he's constantly crossing dimensions, so I felt it would be kind of cool if PMD did a thing like that. They usually have the hero come from another world and in another occasion, another timestream, but I think this might be neat new territory to explore.

And yeah, I haven't done a comic page in decades, and back then it was with stick figures, so I don't even think that really counts. But yeah, that last shot was quite a bit of work but I think it really did a nice job for the dramatic effect. Overall, I'm really happy with the way it came out and I definitely think I can get into this playing field. :3

Thanks for your support! This was quite a bit of fun to make. c:

I'm perfectly fine with it! I love the potential it has. xD What other dimensions exist? Are they all normal looking? Are some weird like the distortion world? Are some dimensions made up of only shiny Pokemon? Is that why Ed has some slightly different markings for a Quagsire? Aaaaaah! THE POSSIBILITIES.

I can tell you put a lot of work into this page! ^_^ Those extreme wide shots are truly a pain- but they're always worth it for effect or just pretty scenery. xD You've got more patience than I do. I wouldn't have dared to do another extreme wide shot so soon after that last one. I'd have noped my way out of that and gone the lazy route. xD

And I'm glad it was fun! I'm hoping this'll be fun for most! It's not as much work as solo-ing a comic but still allows for people to partake in visual story-telling! I know a lot of people who want to do comics but don't cause they don't have the time to work on one long-term. So this is a nice thing for that. =D I can't wait to see what @Suicune's Fire does with the next page!

Unfortunately, no more guide stuff for tonight. I got some brush set links up and organized stuff. I'll get character color palettes for the characters I introduced yesterday posted in character thread tomorrow / first chance I get. Should help people instead of using the eye dropper on a page with gradiated shading. xD

Edit: Crazy idea/thought: What if there was a central hub dimension. You know... a Crossroads for all dimensions? xD

Haha, with that storyline plot, you could pretty much tap into any genre out there. Anything is possible! I figured it would be fun territory for everyone to get into.

I definitely know what I need to do next time to make the next page faster and easier. If you were to see the PSD file, my layers are kind of a mess and are all over the place. I had to do some back and forward work that took a lot of extra time and I could have cut that down if I knew ahead of time what I know now, but the next run should definitely be quicker and nicer-looking now that I know what works best for me.

For me, this Community Comic idea totally works, because as cool as it would be to do a whole comic series, I just don't have the time. But when it comes to the Community Comic, the whole process of passing the baton from one storyteller artist to the next is a cool idea and it's awesome to see so many people involved. Watching how the story progresses and the different styles of artwork coming together is totally awesomesauce.

And holy crap snacks, IT ALL COMES TOGETHER!!! I honestly didn't even think about that "Crossroads" point, but that's a cool idea! :3 Wow, great thinking!

I love the possibilities that it brings. <3 So much potential for silly shenanigans too.

I'm pretty structured with my comic layering. I made a comic template file that mimics my usual layering structure of PRS pages since I tend to be fairly consistent on that end. It helps streamline the process a bit! It looks a bit like this:

    Spoiler:

It saves me the time of making the same layers I use on most pages. The background layers vary a lot more, so I don't have many of those in the template file. xD

And yeah- I wouldn't be able to support another comic on top of PRS if it were Full Time. I mean, I've got another in the works, but it's indefinitely in the planning stages and won't go into production for a few years, I'm guessing. I want to finish PRS first. And it's nice to do something with other people for once. Working alone can be... well- lonely! It's exciting to see where this goes, too! xD

Haha- now if only someone would use that idea somewhere down the line. xD
