Why did those numbers do that? How did you perform that operation? You didn't get those answers, they just went on to the next problem and assumed you were reading their minds. That's the thing that bugs me about it.
    That was an issue with me too. They went through and it's like they'd show the problem. Tell us it that this equation means you put this number here and by doing that you take this number and it means you move his number here here and here, do this and then PEMDAS as usual. It's so confusing and makes almost no sense. Those invisible numbers are the worst

    Ah, PEMDAS was only the tip of the iceberg. That's really just the slap in the face you get at the front entrance of algebra hell.

    My boss who is a scientist said she took high-level math classes as electives. That's something I wouldn't even dream of doing, but my guess is she must have had some really good teachers that knew how to communicate the material across in ways that most people would understand.
