Only thing I can say is not to save it as a JPG.

That's pretty good. It just needs some shading!

@Bulba, neither of them are jpgs. xD Looks nothing like it. Don't trust what the image URL says--what you do is go "Save As" and whatever it pops up as down the bottom of the window is what format the image was saved in. This one says png so it's a png. xD You can also copy + paste it into Paint and zoom in to see if there's any pixellation. I double-checked with this and it's definitely not a jpg. x)

It needs a lot more shading, as right now it looks like you have the outlines, but don't have the details. There's also a lack of outlines along the contour of the sword, which is what the 3D image would look like, but sprites always need outlines. The darker blue shading you had in the first one was good, and I'm not sure why you made it lighter for the second attempt, as it's hardly visible and therefore gives it very little dimension, if any. The hilt needs dark shading, as I can only see light shading in parts, and the sheath could also use some more shading.

Overall it doesn't look like a sprite yet. It looks like the 3D version trying to convert into a sprite but not quite getting there yet. x) It's also very big for a pokemon sprite. Usually they're smaller. Remember, look at other sprites for references. Good luck.
