Upcoming Halloween Event and More!
Halloween is only thirty-one days away but Pokemon GO is getting ready for the holiday! We do not know the details but already Pokemon GO is scaring up some fun for trainers with plenty of great treats to come!
Some of the treats that GO Trainers can expect is new avatar items, a Halloween themed cup for GO Battle League Season 4 and the annual Halloween event!
Also coming up in October is Niantic’s anniversary! They are promising an celebration for this so stay tuned! Also, we will see something to honor the changing of the seasons in Pokemon GO.
Longchamp x Pokémon
Do not forget that the Longchamp x Pokémon collaboration is starting this Friday, October 2nd. Plenty of fashionable Pokemon will be spawning on the runway showing off their amazing looks. If you are lucking then you will find a Shiny Kricketot in the wild!

October Research Breakthrough
If you complete a Research Breakthrough in October then you can expect to see Shedinja to come out of the box! This hollow shell Pokemon will give you a chance to collect Nincada Candy. This will help you in evolving Nincada into Ninjask.
Please remember that this is the only way to get Shedinja in Pokemon GO.
Weeks of Legendary Raid Bosses
We will see the rotating of weekly Legendary Raid Bosses continue into October. The month will start with Zapdos from September. Though, we will see special Raid Boss creep into the final weeks of October for the Halloween event!
Below is the full breakdown of all the Legendary Pokemon that can be found in Legendary Raids in October.
- From Friday, September 25, 2020, at 1PM to Friday, October 2, 2020, at 1PM PDT (GMT −7), Zapdos will be available to challenge in five-star raids.
- From Friday, October 2, 2020, at 1PM to Friday, October 9, 2020, at 1PM PDT (GMT −7), Moltres will be available to challenge in five-star raids.
- From Friday, October 9, 2020, at 1PM to Friday, October 23, 2020, at 1PM PDT (GMT −7), Origin Forme Giratina will be available to challenge in five-star raids. If you’re lucky, you might encounter a Shiny one!
- Stay tuned for details about a special Raid Boss that’ll be available to challenge during our Halloween event!
Spotlight Hours for October
Expect to be shocked during Spotlight Hours from 6PM to 7PM in October. There will be plenty of Pikachu to be found in the early part of October. Though, things will get spooky towards the end of the month for Halloween.
Below is what you can expect from Spotlight Hour in October.
- Tuesday, October 6, 2020: World Cap Pikachu will be in the spotlight, and you’ll earn twice the XP for catching Pokémon.
- Tuesday, October 13, 2020: Original Cap Pikachu will be in the spotlight, and you’ll earn twice the Candy for catching Pokémon.
- Tuesday, October 20, 2020: Shuppet will be in the spotlight, and you’ll earn twice the Candy for transferring Pokémon.
- Tuesday, October 27, 2020: Duskull will be in the spotlight, and you’ll earn twice the XP for evolving Pokémon.
Alolan Meowth to Come for Limited Research!
Things will get catty this month with Limited Research for October. That is because on Saturday, October 10th from 8AM to 10PM (Local Time) will feature Meowth for Limited Research.
This this day, you will see exclusive Field Research tasks to encounter Meowth from Kanto, Alola and Galar. Meanwhile, there will be exclusive Timed Research. lastly, there will be a special box in the shop filled with Incense, Pinap Berries and Lucky Eggs.
