Pokemon GO Community Day Updates and More

Pokemon GO is making some changes due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic.

Niantic has made some changes to how players will be playing Pokemon GO for the time being. Some of these changes involve postponing Community Day and changes to gameplay. All of this to ensure that the health of the players are kept safe from the looming Coronavirus concerns.

Community Day Postpone

The Abra Community Day that was planned for March 15th has been postpone.

No date for this Community Day has been announced. As soon as it is known then we will report upon it.

Changes to Gameplay

Several changes has been made to Pokemon GO to ensure that players can continue to play the game individually. Below are the changes that will be made.

  • A one-time purchase bundle of 30 Incense for 1 PokéCoin. Incense will also last for one hour.
  • 1/2 Hatch Distance when Eggs are placed into Incubators during this time period
  • PokéStops will now drop Gifts more frequently
  • Pokémon habitats will increase and more Pokémon will be appearing in the wild

These changes are being made to ensure that players can still play Pokemon GO by catching plenty of Pokemon. They will be in effect until further notice.
