Plasma Freeze has been announced as the name for the next Pokemon Trading Card Game set. This set will be release in August and feature many cards from the Japanese set, Megalo Cannon. This set continues and strengthen the Team Plasma metagame.
Notable cards that will be in this set include: Dialga EX, Genesect EX, Palkia EX, and Porygon-Z. Out of the cards listed, Genesect EX is expected to be highly sought out because of it’s ability being similar the the effects of Pokemon Catcher.
In other TCG related news, there hasn’t been a named new set for Japan this summer. Instead, a set called EX Battle Boost will be released. This set will mainly feature reprints of several Black and White Series cards ranging from Black and White to Dragons Exalted. This is the first time in the Japanese TCG history where a new summer set will not be release. It is being speculated that this is being done in order to have a worldwide release of the Pokemon X & Y TCG series.
