You mean the education that tells me as a politician in training it's more important for me to learn Calculus than how state and local governments work? The education that says memorizing the periodic table is more important than knowing how to change a tire? The education that judges whether or not I get into grad school based on how I do on standardized tests rather than how I actually contribute to society?

Yeah seems fair.

I've had this thought before. That a business where you just travel around and teach real life skills to high school students for a couple of days would actually be a great idea! xD

Honestly one of the reasons I want to become a politician is to fix the broken system but there's so much corruption I don't know how much I can get done.

The best you can do on your own is inspire other people to follow in your footsteps. And in the long run that would make all the difference in the world. Seriously, though, I do hope you can fix at least something, and it's great to see someone who is into politics for altruistic reasons (I actually once met someone who decided to get into a political field purely for the purposes of making "lesser people" angry. I am not kidding)

To be fair I think a lot of people start out for the right reasons but end up getting sucked down by the riptides of PACs and can't resurface after that.

So I keep hearing it is election day in the US... On a Tuesday... And apparently you guys don't even get a day off to vote?! Of all the crazy things I've heard about this election, this is almost the craziest xD Don't they actually want people to vote or something?!

Yeah, my mom had to wake up at 5:30 in the morning to vote. XD That being said, she usually wakes up pretty early for work, because she's a teacher with an hour drive. But yeah, now that you mention it, shouldn't we get off if voting is our duty?

Nope, we don't. As a result, some people never get the chance if they wanted to.

In the meantime, EVERY site I go to has been pestering me to vote. Even Etsy of all places.

All the schools here are off (which is why I'm able to respond right now), but that might be because the schools are where they host the voting.
