Silver & Ho-oh arrive in Pokémon Masters! Plus Additional Updates!

Check out all the new updates to Pokémon Masters!

New sync pairs and other new features have arrived to Pokémon Masters. There’s a lot more to experience in this new update so be sure to check out every aspect of it below.

Silver & Ho-oh take Flight!

The next Legendary event has been announced to start soon. This story will be featured around Silver and Ho-oh and is called Pure Hearts and Rainbow Wings. This will be available from April 29 at 11:00PM Pacific time until May 13 at 10:59PM Pacific time for those that have completed Chapter 1 of the Main Story. In this event, players will embark on an adventure with Trainers Silver and Ethan of the Johto region to learn more about why Ho-Oh has come to the island of Pasio. Players who complete the Legendary Event will be able to add the sync pair of Silver & Ho-Oh to their teams.

Silver and Ho-oh are a five star strike pair. Ho-oh’s focal move type is fire and its weakness is water. It has access to three abilities: Charging Sun 6, Speeding Sun 2, and Solarize. These power up the user’s moves when it is sunny, quickly charge up the move gauge when it is sunny, and makes the weather sunny after using a sync move, respectively. Ho-oh has access to three moves: Overheat, Solar Beam, and Sacred Fire. Notably, Solar Beam is a grass type move, providing some coverage, but it takes time to charge unless the weather is sunny. Silver also has one assistance move called I’ll Show You! This raises the user’s evasiveness and critical-hit rate, though these stats are sharply raised when the weather is sunny. Their sync move is Power-Hungry Sacred Fire.

Wallace & Milotic arrive in Pasio!

Seemingly in conjunction with the next legendary event, a new spotlight scout has also been announced. After his cameo during the Steven Stone event, Wallace now makes his arrival through this new spotlight scout! They will be available from April 29 at 11:00PM Pacific time until May 13 at 10:59PM Pacific time. Wallace & Milotic are a five star tech pairing. Their focal move type is water with their weakness being electric. Milotic has three possible abilities: Stationary Target 5, Pokey Trap 5, and Recuperation 2. These power up moves when the target is trapped, increase the amount of damage the target takes from being trapped, and restores the user’s HP after using a sync move, respectively. Milotic has three moves available as well: Brine, Whirlpool, and Mirror Coat. Milotic’s abilities make Whirlpool especially dangerous, and in conjunction with Brine, a move which powers up when the target has less than half health, Milotic is a powerful tank. In addition, Mirror Coat is a new addition to Masters that works a bit differently than in the mainline games. When using Mirror Coat, the user takes up a counterattacking posture. Using this move again will cause the user to leave this posture. No other actions can be taken while in this posture. The user will attack if hit by a special move while it is in this counterattacking posture, then the user leaves this posture. The more damage the user has taken from the opponent’s move, the greater the power of this move. Wallace also has one move to offer called Grand Illusion! It reflects status conditions directed toward the allied field of play on the opponent instead and makes the user able to endure the next hit it takes. Their sync move is Aquatic Prince Hydro Pump, which increases power if the target is trapped.

Pokémon Eggs

Pokémon eggs are now available for the main character to pair with! All players will be able to obtain an Egg from Profesor Bellis when they log into the game. Players will be able to choose if they want their Egg to hatch into Bulbasaur, Charmander, or Squirtle. Eggs will hatch after completion from a number of areas and will form a Sync Pair when hatched. More eggs are planned. You can raise affinity of Pokémon hatched from eggs to make them more powerful. This is done through Berry Tart items which will be available in a future update. The current eggs give Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle and require 5 battles to hatch.

Currently, information on these pairs is limited. At the moment the information is as follows, they are all three star strike pairings. The focal move types of the three available starters are Grass for Bulbasaur, Fire for Charmander, and Water for Squirtle. They are weak to fire, water, and grass respectively. They are all able to get the ability Power Reserves 2, which increases the powers of moves in a pinch. Bulbasaur’s moveset is Razor Leaf and Solar Beam. Charmander’s moveset is Flamethrower and Fire Blast. Squirtle’s moveset is Bubblebeam and Hydro Pump. The player character makes a Dire Hit available for Bulbasaur and an X Sp. Atk for Charmander and Squirtle. The player also has the move Race You! This sharply raises the user’s Speed and raises the user’s critical-hit rate. They each have the vanilla Grass Sync Impact, Fire Sync Beam, and Water Sync Beam as sync moves.

Other Updates

There is a new Daily Scout feature at no cost to obtain various items and Sync Pairs. This is reset every day at 07:00 UTC and the Sync Pairs available will be reset periodically. You can also now change the order in which opponents will target your team members. You can now use Move Candy to level up the Sync moves of your Sync Pairs without the need to get them again in a Sync Pair Scout. Each Star Rating requires a different candy, 3 Star Move Candy, 4 Star Move Candy and 5 Star Move Candy while Pokémon hatched from Egg require Egg Move Candy.

With so much to look forward to, be sure to get out there and become masters!
