Shiny Ho-oh in Pokémon GO

Ho-oh has returned to Pokémon GO!

Niantic have confirmed that from May 19th through June 7th, Ho-Oh will return to Raid Battles in Pokémon GO. With this, it also confirms that Shiny Ho-Oh will be available during this time.

Niantic has also confirmed that when using the AR+ features on catching a Pokémon, the Pokémon are now set to never actually flee when you’re taking a photograph. Previously, the Pokémon could flee but from recently, the Pokémon will not flee allowing for the Pokémon to be photographed from close up and any capture bonuses be done.

As a reminder, today is the latest community day! On this day, for three hours in each region, Charmander will appear, enmass, in Pokémon GO. During this event, when you evolve a Charmeleon into Charizard, it will know the move Blast Burn, which is exclusive to this event. This coincides with triple experience with captures and Lure Modules running for 3 hours. This runs at these times:
Asia & Oceania: 03:00 UTC – 06:00 UTC (12:00 JST – 15:00 JST)
Europe: 09:00 UTC – 12:00 UTC (10:00 BST – 13:00 BST / 12:00 CET – 15:00 CET)
North America: 18:00 UTC – 21:00 UTC (11:00 PDT – 14:00 PDT / 14:00 EDT – 17:00 EDT)
