As if February isn’t jam packed full of events to fill your days, The Lunar New Year Event is back in Pokemon GO from February 9th at 10 a.m. to 14th at 1 p.m., and is sure to keep you catching and battling. No matter your play style, there is something for everyone.
Find Red Pokemon spawning more often such as: Krabby, Goldeen, Magmar, Magikarp, Miltank, Meditite, Tepig, and if you are lucky you may find a wild Gyarados…the luckiest of those Trainers, may even find a wild Shiny Gyarados.
Pokemon based on Lunar New Year animals will be hatching from 5K Eggs. Look forward to finding Rattata, Ekans, Mankey, Ponyta, Mareep, Houndour, Miltank, Torchic, Bagon, Buneary, Tepig, and Litleo hatching during this time.
Raids will also be shifting during this time. Here is what you can expect to find taking over Gyms near you:
- One Star Raids: Meditite, Carvanha, Duskull, Skorupi, and Darumaka
- Three Star Raids: Miltank, Octillery, Blaziken, Camerupt, and Absol
- Five Star Raids: Latios and Latias will be appearing from Tuesday, February 9, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. to Saturday, February 20, 2021, at 9:00 a.m. local time.
- Mega Raids: Mega Pidgeot, Mega Ampharos, and making it’s Pokemon GO debut Mega Gyarados from Tuesday, February 9, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. to Saturday, February 20, 2021, at 9:00 a.m. local time.
Get out and spin those stops to discover new Field Research featuring encounters rewarding: Meowth, Alolan Meowth, Galarian Meowth, Meditite, and Miltank. There will also be Timed Research featuring the Wild Bull Pokemon, Tauros.
Be sure to link up with friends during this event as you have a greater chance of becoming Lucky Friends when opening gifts (which will be containing more Pokeballs), battling in Raids and Trading Pokemon. Speaking of trading, the trade distance will be increased to 40 Km during this event and there will be a greater chance of your traded Pokemon, becoming a Lucky Pokemon.
